Hi folks,
Got hooked during the trial and now they have my money. In the process I fell in love with the rifleman profession. I was initially planning on going Rifle/Doc and am nearly master medic. However I have been poking around some and I think I find the CH skills more "interesting". Note, I am not looking to be the end all of combat, I am just looking for something fun to supplement my Rifleman abilities. Are others using this and enjoying it? Do you have any tips?
My current template Idea is
Master Rifle
Master CH
Medic 3-0-4-4
Any input is appreciated!
PS help the noob!

I was a riflemen/CH for 3 months at the beginning of this game and I enjoyed it a lot and think it's a perfectly respectable template that willallow youto pretty much go anywhere and do anything you wish. You will not be the "end-all" because creature handler is not an extremely powerful profession, but you will be able to walk away from most PVE battles with zero injuries, even if you have no armor due to the meat shields up front (pets) taking the damage for you. You will find that pets are ineffective in most of the higher level dungeons in the game where they will take damage too quickly for you to effectively keep them healed and kill the mobs at the same time and if you are interested at all in PVP combat, do not use CH, as PC damage against pets is 100%, so you 10k ham rancor will die in about 3 shots from a master riflemen. Cheers,
Soyel

CH/Rifleman/Master Scout/Ranger 0 0 2 0 on Kettemoor and he is alot of fun, so much that my Master Smuggler on Valycn is almost Master CH/novice Rifleman will eventually finish him to match my Kettemoor toon.
Good template and since I solo 99% of the time, my pets are good companions when they don't poof on me.
Good luck

Hi there,
ch is nice for lower pve mobs and as a master u can call 3 pets to group and get much higher rewarded missions...u do your own solo-hunting-group...i had a lot of fun while do ch from novice to master...droped ch by now cause wanne go for some pvp and doing fencer/tka but keeping my master rifle...imo a great prof with high dmg and some good working sa-attacks like ms1+2, hs3 etc. but afaik both profs rockz only u gain to master...

I'd keep CH till you get master rifleman then drop it.
Its handy having CH while your learning rifleman cos u dont get hit so no wasting time on having to get buffs and reknewing them = faster gameplay.

Master Rifleman/Master Creature Handler here also. I have been a MCH for nearly 9 months and although the Devs have nerfed most of my pets and profession I still enjoy using Pets for PVE. I also have become kind of a collector of pets and enjoy taming some of the more rare critters. I have a mantigrue screecher, frenzied grual, thune grassland gaurdian, gaping spider queen, and an assortment of lesser rare pets, as well as some of the best BE pets on the Chilastra server. I am still looking for a Bull Rancor and Rhoa Kwi Pack Leader and that gives me something to do on Dathomir besides simply running missions for cash all day like most of those TKAs/Swords professions. I have recently created a BE with my alt and I am looking forward to experimenting with that for awhile.
Basically, I am saying that unless your going to be heavily involved in PVP the Master Rifleman/MCH template is a fun one. If you plan on becoming some kind of hero in PVP I recommend doing something other than MCH. For that matter, I suggest you go for a JEDI; the Devs have basically done away with any timeline and are allowing JEDI ownage in PVP and they can out run anyone other than another guardian if they are losing. On Chilastra I dont think I have seen less than 5 JEDI at coronet EVER since patch #9, and just think of all the JEDI grinding in the squill caves on Tat or bashing ERs on Dath, let alone farming cash on Dant. Pretty soon it will be unthinkable to go overt without being a JEDI.

I am an old time Master CH and have been Master Rifleman for about 1 1/2 months and I really love it, I was master tka but it did not have the starwars feel to it like Rifleman does. If you like to solo pve then its a great combo to have but as others have said CH does nothing for you in pvp right now.
Have fun with it...

I had that template for a while until they changed the BH skills (still havent got one BH box yet lol) but it worked really well. Send you pet after a rancor for example, do strafe shot 2 a couple of times, and then you didnt take any damage. I once took on a rancor lair un buffed but I had to use 2 pets. CH was more of a distracting skill for me rather than for full on combat.
