Say goodbye to easy to find mind buffs.

Dancers and musicians think that our buff bots are wrecking the game. If you don't speak up now, mind buffs will be all but impossible to find.

You need to make your voice heard here
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=dancer&message.id=29411

If you are a combat player, if you like PVP, if you like PVE, if you appreciate a good mind buff as much as I do, then you better make your voice heard. Otherwise, bye bye mind buffs.

Mind buffing will still be around, just a lot harder to find for those of us that don't have a strong PA, alternate toons, or a friend that dances and plays music.

If you are have a buff bot that provides this valuable service, spread this message to the other boards. Let's see what other players have to say.

I know an entertain in my guild I can talk to and she buffs my mind in 3 mins while she is not AFK.

Besides I hope they end looping macro, playing AFK is stupid **edit**.

Playing a profession afk was/is never intended hopefully they will fix the afk'ing soon. 1st point are you really playing if you are afk? and next is it fair to the people that do play if you can do the same as they can afk?

sure combatents can afk some content - but once you get to higher level stuff you can't, same with docs and dancers I think. Let then afk things like stim b's and dance, but buffs and disease heals etc should be an At The Keyboard event...

Personally I've never used mind buffs. Brandy does me just fine for keeping my mind sharp. That's just me. The only timeI see a dancer or musician is to heal my combat stress. . .or whatever it's called.

The only time I've ever used Entertainers is to heal my BF...that's all. Besides, the ONE and ONLY time I did get a Ent. buff it was only for +110 and, to me, it's not worth the time (3-7 minutes) it takes to get.

I have only gotten 1 mind buff from ents in the last 2 or 3 months, of course I don't pvp, but I have no problem with PVE only using chef foods and drinks. The entertainer buffs were just another time sink for me and didn't last long enough compared to doc buffs.

Get rid of AFK playing! Put the 'player' back in 'player character'!

I personally don't get mind buffs. I'd have to say however, that whatever a person chooses to do with their character for their monthly fee is entirely up to them.

This is great for entertainers and dancers. Maybe now the real entertainers can get paid. People started forgetting to do this because of the afk entertainers. I know I don't tip afkers...they are not earning it.

Naish, you've posted this exact thread on every forum. I'm sorry you no longer can make millions of credits due to an AFK buffbot, but most of us that enjoy interactions with other real people in the game aren't too worried about losing the annoying AFK spambuffbots in the cantina. I leave the cantina if there isn't an atk dancer/musician to buff. This fix will allow those entertainers that actually play the game to get more business and be more profitable with their profession. You should be embarassed of yourself for wanting to hurt their already undervalued entertainer professions.

Law of unintended consequences. Many of those AFK enterainers and buff bots are second accounts. They were created to be a source of income for the primary. Get rid of that and SOE is going to see a rash of account cancelations as those second accounts are no longer useable and cancelled.

Personally I see them as little more than vendors. They are something you can purchase a service off of and work even when someone isn't there. You don't see Merchants standing in their place of business all day selling their wares. They have vendors for it.

The biggest effect of this is going to be a dramatic decrease in Entertainers in Cantinas. How many players any more are willing to sit around the Catina and Dance and play Music, let alone do Buffs?

Mind buffs are going to be much more difficult to find and they will become much more expensive. Entertainers will also become much more rare.

I can see making some changes to get rid of combat macros. But Entertainers ones? It's going to gut the profession. Until the players find loopholes and other ways to do the same thing. Possibly via third party programs.

Can we agree to disagree waste ^-^ I have a bunch of alts that are entertainers on multiple servers - I usually leave in disgust when I play them due to the Holo-tainers. They Spam, they take business, they create lag and they really do not add much of anything to the game. I know many people who left in disgust because their valueable services were undermined by the afk bots. They would return - it is more of an exploit to me then anything else - though I do admit it is legal the way it is now. I have leveled to master dancer and musician with never being afk for more then 10 mins and I did so far 1/2 of ID with no scripts... another 60 or so hours ahead of me there... and So far I have enjoyed every minute of it. The idea of entertainers to be a social focus for the game - Talk to your entertainers, your time and theirs will be enjoyably spent
