Thread: Targeting Wackiness

This has been happening the last few days I have2 issues.


1. My toon targets the aggro closest to me while still firing at what I have targeted.


Example.


I target a creature lair and start to strafe2 in order to kill the lair while doing damage to all the mobs issuing forth from the lair. Now what seems to happen is that my toon targets the mob closest to me and the strafe2 animation keeps going. Now I cannot target the lair and /clearCombatQueue; and then strafe2 the lair to do damage to it.

What happens is my toon keeps firing strafe2 but doing no damage to either the lair or the mob that has turned orange in the reticule. I try to retarget the lair but the reticule stays blue.


2. My toon keeps an aggro mob targeted (orange) that has aggroed me and I move out of range and try to target another mob it will not engage the second mob and disengage the first.


Example


A desert dune marksman aggros me while i'm riding by on my swoop, I move out of range and see a juvenile krayt dragon. I target the juvie and start to hit strafe2, the combat queue clears and does not fire, the blue reticule on the juvie turns orange for a moment, and then blue again. I have to go back, kill the mob targeting me and then find my target again to reinitiate combat.


This also happens at close range when multiple mobs are aggroing my toon.


Has anyone else been having this problem?

unfortunately yes - this is an old bug unfortunately - please add it to the bug thread ^_^ again.

Ended up getting killed because of this stupid bug.


Problem is not the targeting. It's with area attacks in general. When a mob dies in an area attack it clears your combat Que, Why I have no idea.


I have this bug happen to me so many times I cannot count. Happens when you are strafeshoting lair. Mob's come running. One manages to die coming to you, Combat que clears, mob gets hit on you before u spam your next SS2 on the lair. Now you are stuck SS2'n the lair for no damage while the creature gets free hits on ya.


Why does the combat que clear out when a creature dies within an area attack?


Also causes another minor bug. You SS2 the lair all the mobs eventually die. U still are SS2 the lair. You stop spamming SS2 when your combat que clears of all the SS2 attacks u just stand there pointing your rifle at the lair. An area attack will not continue into auto-attacks automatically.


Oh almost forgot there's another bug where I'm riding along on my speeder. Get aggroed jump off my bike equip my rifle and I cannot attack anything at all. Mob ends up incapping me (unbuffed usually when this happens) I get ticked off. Get back up heal myself I point my rifle but don't fire at all. Had a mob chase me into our guild mall to incap me because I couldn't even shoot at it.
