"Take cover" skill do? I see no impact. I was under the impression that the bonus we get for "cover" ( x4xx ) increases our defenses / makes us harder to hit. Is it broken? If its not, then where would one SEE the difference? A number perhaps in skill mods? I'm unsure.

Geeze how friendly. If you were forced to respond to ALL posts I could see how you might be frustrated, or If the subject of "cover" came up every other post. So it seems you just enjoy what you do ( I'm being nice here ). How embarrassing for you, that you responded to a post that you did notneed to, and in the process identified that you are a not so friendly or helpful person.
Some of us don't mind a bit of friendly responses now and again. Since it pains you to help, please don't respond, its good manners. Thank you.
Now, does anyone else have any updated info on the subject of the "cover" skill?

well it is in the stickies - so that should have been the first place to look. But as it is not a subject we cover more then 3 times a month generally.
/Cover increases ranged defense by an indeterminate amount. Melee attacks gets + mods(causeyou are prone but you get range defence mods much higher then the normal prone mods. That means vs npc's that use ranged weapons they do significantly less damage and hit less often if you are in a covered state. Bascially useless currently since most attacks default to melee attacks though.

when i use /cover it works wonders. it's only good against non'meleeing NPCs, but it DOES work. i changed my "other misses you" combat messages to blue, so i can now keep track of how well /takecover works. and it works. and if your unbuffed, it' can save your life. when i'm unbuffed and unarmored(which is so much more fun than beingn a buff clone) and i'm need to get past that 10k ham rebel trooper infront of a starport, i get about 40 or 50m away, /takecover and take'em out. the only problem with cover is that you have to break it to heal yourself..and that could get you killed.
cover works.
buy, yeah, you could have easily just read the FAQ at the top of this thread. a little time taken on your part and no need to ruffle the feathers of the locals.
