Thread: Questions on Power ups

I see a lot of weapons for sale that are powered up, first off it seems a little shady to me to advertise a weapon thats pup'ed but oh well to each his own. My questions are:

1. Do power ups affect the condition of the weapon? A master WS told me that it was almost twice the conditon hit when using a weapon that was powered up as using the same weapon with no power up. If thats true then why do people slap so many pups on their weps, it seems I am losing enough condition in my general use as it is. Which leads to what might be the possible answer to my question,

2. I am grinding to master rifleman now (4244) is it something that you might not want to use a pupwhengrinding and shooting your rifle until the barrel melts, but once you are master rifles and probably arent shooting as much that it becomes an ok trade off to use power ups?

I would like to hear from a lot of you on your thoughts and how you use power ups in your weapons and how where you are as a rifleman might affect those decisions.

Thanks in advance for all of your advice.

1) Condition decay is not accelerated by the use of a powerup- at least not directly. Condition goes down faster as you do more damage with each shot(which does affect your conditon). If you use a reduced ham and better range powerup your decay is just the same is it would be without one. If you use a enhanced range and speed - your decay increases by the same amount your speed doesf(so the same damage done but in a shorter period of time). It is almost always worth using powerups - speed especially when you are not master (and even after master unless you are speed capped)

2) You shoot more once you are master ^_^ as you hunt all the time for things.

It all depends on what you deem acceptable. There's a vendor on my server that regularly stocks pre-sliced T-21's for around 100k, max damage over 500. With a powerup i've got an ap3 rifle that does around 700 max damage, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, depending on how good that slice was. With the amount of hunting thatI do, I burn through these rifles pretty quickly; I'm lucky if I get a week out of each one. However, in that week I've probably paid for that rifle 20 times over at the veryleast. To me, this is an acceptable situation. That said,I always make sure i have a spare handy, as they inevitably go below 25% condition when I'm out in the middle of nowhere on dath or endor, surrounded by things that want to chew on my head.

Also, I only use powerups on my T-21's. My bank account is healthy, but not so much that I can justify getting a new high-end dxr-6b every week.
