Kinda hard to snipe at a creature when they teleport right behind or beside me instead of moving torwards me. Good thing I have 2H melee skills though.....

Well it is not just mobs warping to me. In groups I find myself warping all over the place now, stinks when people/me are auto-following. I get up and run over to them when I warp then my specials go off while running.

I guess it is lag and the client synching. But it seems to be getting worse not better.

Yeah, it's getting to bedang rediculous. Between the warping, the studder step and the take cover "slo-mo" bug, I am now convinced that we riflemen were put into the game to entertain the other classes by dying.

does this really happen to you all the time?

I play for manyhours every day of the week, and i have done so since the game was released-

I have had the warping problem happen to memaybe 10 times EVER while playing. Seriously.

I have to ask- what kinds of connections do you guys have? could it be lagg by any chance? why don't you guys turn on your Status windows next time you log on (Control-O, misc, net status window) and check to see your pings.

I am on a cable modem and my ping hovers at anywhere from 30 to 70 at all times. When i lagg, it's obvious to me because i experience whatever lagg-related problem, and then look at my status window to see tha my ping has spiked to 200 or more.

Also, i feel it fair to say that i have, in fact, experienced the warp problem, but it's no big deal because i whip out the ole' spraystick when that happensand warning-shot them away at lightning speeds. Most of the time this saves my life, but occasionally i have died because of it. The only acceptable thing about the death (the reason it doesnt make me angry) is that it is very rare for me to die from warpage, and there is no insurance right now so i don't leave a corpse

Just a thought, and check out my posting SOMEONE FORGOT TO NERF MY RIFLEMAN, it contains some information that you may find usefull, though it is not directly related to the warping problem.

Thanks for reading this-

My group loves to watch me die...

As far as the warping, I have had the prone/take cover warp about 3-4 times. It is VERY annoying.

Monster warp happens all the time to me.

That is from DSL reports, I have gotten better but it is primetime east coast. So I think it is a fair speed test, I am usually around those numbers. If anyone else wants to test there speed here is the link.

I'm not a rifleman (carbineer), but the warping does bother me as well. I do a lot of imperial missions in order to advance through the ranks, and like every other mission I have mobs warping onto me.. I'm lucky I have my vibroblade. The warping IS a big issue.

Peko's warp to me every time...I warp about 1/3 of the time when going prone.

Fix the **edit** thing already

It's amusing to me ... one of my biggest gripes with this game is the BS warping problems .

These problems affect me EVERY time I play . Either I get in range and attempt to go prone and then get warped , or I will be fighting something and it just suddenly " appears " right beside me .

The prone one is the most irritating . The only way around it is to wait a full eight seconds or so , then go prone . Well , when I get in range of an aggressive animal I don't really have 8 seconds to wait there . I will get detected . Then my whole attack is useless because either the animal teleports to me or my guy will autodefend and get the whole group on me .

This single problem affects me EVERY SINGLE PLAY SESSION and is really draining the fun out of this game for me , so much so that I have played maybe and hour or two in the past week . If SOE wants to keep me around as a customer they really need to fix this soon .

Many times when I take a death from this problem , or have to reposition myself five times for the same animal , I just log out and go read a book .

FIX THIS **edit** PROBLEM ALREADY .

Not happy " customer " here .

Peace all

Max

And another thing I don't understand . If this prone teleport problem is due to lag or synch problems ... HOW COME YOU DON'T TELEPORT WHEN YOU RUN UP AND KNEEL ????

Someone PLEASE explain this to me . If it was simply a matter of the lag and synch stuff , wouldn't you teleport every time you attempted to stop running and take a stance ??? Why does it only happen if you attempt to go prone ?

I am frustrated and confused . This problem makes hunting NPC's frustrating and NOT fun .

1. The biggest lag I've seen is because they reset the launchpad option for "Vertex/Pixel shader". Go back in and disable it (in the options button right after you log in to the launchpad).

2. The warping is a bug in the new waypoint code. Try /find shuttleport from a few tricky places in a city and see if it draws the waypoint line or not. If not, look at the surroundings and see how complex it is. This means the system couldn't figure out how to move you from point A to point B, and if you were a mob you would've warped. (FYI your pet will probably warp if you sent it off to attack)

You can kind of tell when something is going to warp. Indoors they will very frequently, but outdoors I don't have as big of a problem. It is still annoying.

Since they nerfed suppression fire, I haven't done much versus critters. It's sad that the Novice Rifleman's most useful move was from the Marksman skill tree.
