Thread: Cool shot! 1524 dmg from a lighting rifle on me. What can the T21 do. Not on Starsider yet.
Funny story.
I was running back from just buying a weapon from a guild community outside Theed. I was busy chating with a friend while I entered Theed city limits. I headed toward the starport and "BAM" 1524 damage from a lighting rifle. WoW! Very nice shot on me. Im not complaining, I should have been paying attention. But never the less that was a nice shot.
That brings me to my next question: If a lighting rifle can do that to me, what can a T21 do?
It must be super impressive.
Today, while driving into work. I started thinking: Damage is reduced to 25% in PvP. So that shot on me was a 6000+ shot. Wow. I cant wait for all my hard work using a DLT20a to pay off when the t21s become available on starsider.
Sounds like you might have been at my vendor.
Either way, Not even close to that. 25%, maybe, if youre lucky and we get prime resources for the T21. And if you get a good "roll".
They dont want bounty hunters or commandos to have any comeptiton form a rifleman. Therefore the T21 was nerfed. The damage was too high, according to the all - ******* - mighty Holocron. Read the riflemans forums. The T-21 is average a max damage only 50 more than our mediocre laser rifles, at a cost of twice the speed. Oh, but is got that heavy AP! Thats sooooooo useful in PVP. We all know that there are just thosuands of heavy armored mobs out there. Most riflemen on other servers finr the T21 useless and have to stay with the laser. My personal one does 4.2 at 501, sliced with a powerup. Thats better than ANY post nerf t-21.
Sad aint it? We rifleman got hit square in the mouth with holocron's nerf bat.
I have never seen a Headshot3 exceed 600 damage in PvP with my pre-nerf T21.
It's semi-useful in large PvP groups. Mostly I am the Medic Killer for my side, since I don't need rapid fire for that job and the Mind Pool damage I can do is usually enough to drop any medic on the other side that has been healing.
However, in a normal PvP situation, it's worthless. I get ONE shot. One. And it's never enough, with the PvP Damage Nerf. Not even close. And 9.2 seconds is a long wait for another shot. Now obviously the Rifle Speed mods help that out, but I am not to Master yet. Either way the HAM is killing me (1000/500/900 are my three Mind stats).
So yesterday I went and bought myself a very nie Jawa Ion Rifle. The AP is Light, the Damage is 101-220, and the action delay is 5.2. The HAM cost is also half of my T21. Between that and the Stun Type damage, the Jawa Ion Rifle absolutely OWNS my T21 for PvP.
The sad thing is that I have to use it for PvE as well. Generally I swap over to the Jawa Ion Rifle for all of my "setup" shots and then only bring out the T21 for when I want to lay on the Headshots. Once I get a decent Spraystick I'll likely be swapping between the three rifles on every large MOB I take on. I'll also likely be picking up an E11 for mid-range MOBs in groups, because with the fire delay on the T21 there is no way I can take on a group of three or more MOBs of ANY difficulty. I hit one, and the others reach me before my second shot warms up. Dead.
I am beginning to think of my T21 as a sort of "Support Rifle" for large MOBs with insane Hit Points. I was all excited to get it, and it is hella-cool. But using it as my primary weapon is just stupid.
Remind me why, again, Riflemen need to hotswap 3-4 guns for every enemy in the game.
I see anywhere from 800-2000 damage with head shot2.
mind costs of 120-130 using head shot 2.
speed is a slow 8.1.
Are you saying: A BH with a lighting rifle or a commando with an acid rifle are better?
I hope your not saying im trying to master a profession that will not be the best with that type of weapon!
Say it isnt true? Please. I dont want to think im wasting my time. Please correct me if im wrong.

Even reducing the speed on that thing wouldn't have helped that much.
Are you kidding? Considering the affect is a percentage, if you managed to get a 25% speed slice, your speed would have dropped to 6.9. Further, if speed powerups are useable on it, if you get another 25% reduction in speed, that 6.9 becomes a 5.17. That's 0.17s slower than my dlt20a. Not that you would really survive any longer, but I want to point out that thebigger a number, the more it responds to a percentage change.
Now imagine a 30% speed slice and a 30% speed powerup......that's a 4.5 second delay T21!

Because we have to rely on strategy to win our battles instead of brute power. That's the way it should be, even if it was implemented wrong....
"I see anywhere from 800-2000 damage with head shot2"
thats before hte 75% reduction. thats 200-500PvP shots, which i rarely get over 400 using headshot3 and a T-21, even though in PvE i usually get shots of 3000-3500
lol 800-2000 damage?
I get that with my average laser rifle at 1-0-0-1 in the rifleman tree using Headshot 2.
I consistently hit MOB's for just over 2000. When I do actually hit.
Trust me people.. They nerfed the T21 so bad the Laser is better.
Oh and spraysticks??? Theyre bugged. The chem dispersion mechanism only Yields 5 damage. Why? Because the schematic is bugged and cant be experimented on. My Spraysticks are 1.9 16-169. Theyd be MUCH better if someone would get off their **edit** can and fix the chem dispersion mechanisms.
Yeah. "Strategy". MindShot2 and run into a private building, that's the rifleman strategy that works. Make sure you're buffed, too, because one auto-attack from a flamethrower will hit for for about 500-950 damage.
And yes, as I've said before, the best rifleman is a bounty hunter. Not only do they get a stronger rifle, but they can use a pistol to do more mind pool damage per second, and at less cost to themselves.
Right now, there is no reason to be a rifleman.
