I play a Wookie, so I was given the schematics for a bowcaster in my datapad. So I dragged myself through the artisan tree up to weaponsmith, so I could make my Bowcaster. The ancient weapon of the proud and noble Wookie. Well no wonder the empire was able to enslave the whole race. The bowcaster is slow, with short range for a rifle, breaks easily, and has unimpressive damage. For crying out loud it's a rail run!

I became a rifleman so that I could use this weapon. Crappy as it may be when compared to other weapons, I want to roll play my Wookie.

The answer is simple. Grant the Bowcaster the armor piercing properties. The Bowcaster is difficult to make, with exotic resources and a limited amount of players who can make them. So there is no fear of a "Wookie uprising" behind our mighty Bowcasters. Any punk with a scout blaster can run up to you and you are slapped with a great big -70 at close range. So what is the harm. Make the Bowcaster a real choice for the Wookie Rifleman.

I am doing the exact same thing!! I'm a novice rifleman & should become a novice weaponsmith this week. I am sure I will continue as it's still part of the whole RP thing for a wookie to make his own Bowcaster, but yeah it should at least be a weapon worth having & I am dissapointed to hear that it's not. Do you think that it would be improved using advanced components?

Well I only went as far as Novice weaponsmith, because "the grind" makes my brain hurt. Diggidy-**edit** it's boring. So yes I have purchased some advanced parts from local master smiths to use in my schematics. And actually I have tured out a decent caster, at least as good and in many cases better than casters made by higher ranked smiths. Unfortunatly it pales in compairison to any other rifle or pistol that I have. Too bad, because with an ideal range of 48m it is just inside the throwing range for traps. So it COULD be a very sweet Wookie scout weapon.

I was just about to be wookie when i first started, just for the bowcaster, but oh well.

I chose twi lek cuz head noodles are cool... And seem to have more use than being rifleman
