Thread: New Melee Issue from Holo

One of the new proposed changes for Teras Kasi Artists (and from the tone of the statement, all melee attackers is:

"Upping melee damage. A meleer who closes with a ranged profession should be much more competitive than they are right now."

If Melee Damage goes up across the board, do you suppose our 250% penalty is going to come down? I'm already being hit by local town thugs for 200-450 damage. . .

If the designer isn't stupid, he'll realize that the way to accomplish his goal is to make pistols and carbines ALSO have a 2.5x damage penalty.


Personally, I don't care if they lower the rifle penalty. I already picked up swordsman, so I'm invested in melee defense anyway. However, I *do* expect them to bring the other professions in line.


If rifles keep the 2.5x damage penalty fine.


But pistols and carbines need the same penalty.

Umm with 2.5x damage multiplier in pvp melee hit me for 600+ dmg. It takes max 1-2 hits to send me to the nearest cloning facility.

600? HA Some jerk Tera Kasi got me while TEF'd while in a tavern and hit me for 1500 (yeah i had my laser rifle equiped). Needless to say...one shot incappsdo exist for classes other than BH/LLC, and Commandoes....

1500? That's nothing. Have you been hit by a Power Hammer, yet? That's a pretty shocking experience.


Of course, the only reason it did hit me for that much is because I couldn't get my 2H curved sword out in time due to lag.

Fine, they wanna up the TK damage a little, I have no problem with that. But if riflemen still recieve a 2.5X penalty for holding a rifle in meele....mind you, we should be able to defend ourselves better in meele then someone carrying a pistol or carbine due to the fact that we should be able to use the butt of our rifles to crack someones head, but thats another issue. If they do up TK damage and we DONT get our meele penalty at the very least reduced if not completely removed, I guess ill just join the rest and go BH since thats evidently the way to go.....

Actually ralph asked if the TKA community wanted a higher Defense or Attack and most of them said defense which makes sense because then they can better get close to pistoleers without getting wacked. If they up the melee attack or not it makes no difference to me. I am a long range fighter after all.....and i have some gurrecks
