Thread: Combo shots and tactics
So I was thinking about a way to make the rifleman board a little more helpful and to take our minds off the issues or class seems to be having. So I'd like to hear some tactics that have been useful for you.
I have 2 macroed attacks right now, a long range attack (Laser rifle at 60m), and my hunting attack (Bowcaster at 48m)
1)/prone /mindShot1 /headShot2/ headshot2 /warningShot
2) /kneel/ ui action toolbarSlot10 (throws a trap) /mindShot1 /headShot2 /headShot1
What combos are the rest of you using out there?
I basically send my graul mauler (great resists and high HAM) in against anything. This works best against really big stuff or groups of social critters.
Pick one target he's not hitting, mindshot2, mindshot1, flushing1(or just a normal attack) and move on to the next. I bleed the whole group then go back and start mopping up the first ones that i hit who are at 1/2 mind. The last flushing shot or regular shot before moving on makes sure I get a hit in for max xp if it dies before I get back around to it.
Basically rely on the mindshots to do most of the damage and the graul to negate the 2.5x multiplier which is killer. Just make sure that you don't engage until the all aggro the pet.
I'm 4/0/1/2 right now.
I used to use suppression and flurry but IMO it's not worth it to waste the HAM on it anymore.

How about a pet and a flame thrower?
Well it's not, but it does help overcome a major penalty to our class. I would count that as helpful.
Traps aren't part of the rifle tree either, but pinning a Mountain Squill down with adhesive mesh keeps it from rushing me and doing terrible things to me.
Anybody else got a good tactic?
