Thread: Wow...No amount of reading prepares you

I finally got Master Rifleman last night. I usually solo, which made it a bit of a steep climb for a casual player with no melee skills to fall back on. Last night I went from 4,4,4,3 directly into Master status . I've seen many posts with Masters explaining how the game changes entirely at that level...but wow.

Headshot 3 is actually fast enough now to use as a primary attack. Strafe 2? Bye bye lairs. Conceal shot rocks even harder now. I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. The only downside is that I will almost surely be a psycho for the next few days, killing things just because I can...I don't need no stinkin badges!

Before I start rambling more incoherently, I'd like to thank all the posters in the forum who have provided help and guidance to myself and many other aspiring riflemen. Hopefully, with a little more experience, I'll be able to give back a bit. But for now...something within 64m might be moving. I can fix that.

Congrats on reaching master rifleman. I know exactly how you feel. The diff between 4-4-4-3 and master is unbelievable! The speed change really made all the difference in the world! Good luck to you!

I can't wait. :-) But, I'll have to, because I have a ways to go from Novice.

Haha! That's too funny

Congrats on Master, I'm just a young pup on my way to the top. Currently 0003 Rifle, but I'll get there!

Now you know

Word of advice: watch the conditions on your weapons. If you are very rich and buy rifles in crates you can continue to use PU's but if you are not I would stop using them.

Great post, and congrats on making Master.

I remember my first recognition of the difference at Master. Shortly after making Master, which was not long after they fixed the problem with a mob's friends attacking you even when you used Concealshot and the target died without ever aggroing on you, I came upon a random spawn of some enemy NPCs. So I decided to see what difference Master made.

I carefully positioned myself so that I was 60m away from my target and even furhter from the rest of the group. I targeted the nearest one, and started firing Headshot3s. Six shots later, the NPC was dead. Having used something other than Concealshot and especially after dealing with the Concealshot bug for so long, I expected some reaction, butthere was nothing but Nabooian crickets chriping in the night. The target died before it could aggro, and apparently his companions did not see him go down. So I tried it again, with the same results. Emboldened, I chose one in the middle of the group. Same result. In fact, the whole spawn died without anyone aggroing.

It made the months of leveling, even with the 2.5x melee modifier, worth it.

The first time I mastered rifleman I was in awe. I was a fencer already so for more than half the tree I had the speed line done.

When I trained master it was going from being a true sniper to taking hold of a 50 cal. machine gun... and never missing! Turned out on a hunting trip to rancor valley with 4 noob jedi I was outdamaging all of them. Talk about a grin when a jedi asked me to "tone it down a little" lmao. Good times.

I remember the evening when I got master, not too long ago. I was so happy because I got the last 2 skills without buffs or armor. I got within 30k exp within the last skill and then decided to get buffs and throw on my armor to make things go a little quicker.

As soon asI mastered it, I wanted to celebrate. So i went to the stronghold POI on corellia, but there were already 2 rebels there who had just finished clearing out the base. SoI headed back to coronet but found an Imp field base on the way. Now, my buffs had about an hour on them, and there were no turrets on this base. I figured I'd take a shot at it.

After only fighting an AT-ST once before I mastered rifleman, I fired conceal shot on it, and to my surprise, it was taken down in only a few shots. Now, with this immense feeling of bravado,I continued to take out the rest of the base, even though my muon faded, I put my helmet on and didn't use any special attacks. At point blank range every single Stormtrooper went down without any problem.

I havent had this much fun in the game since mastered commando...

The least I can do is congratulate you on your achievement. Have fun with this profession..

Awesome post , it reminded me of the old days. First the sense of accomplishment and then the sense of relief that it was over and I had made it, followed by that BMOC feeling that I walked around with for awhile Also really liked the last post about the Jedi getting pissed when we strafe shot the caves, that stuff makes my day.

I am a MRM/MCH and I really like to lead nooby hunting trips, where my pets tank for the newcomers, and when all hell breaks loose, and the noobs start getting their asses handed to them, I whip out my T21 and hit strafe shot, it's priceless to see the stunned reactions on the noobs as they start asking me what the hell just happened.

Congratulations!!!

Yes, I often find that Jedi complain if I spam Strafe 2 in the Geonosian lab. Kind of funny, really
