I just made novice rifleman and it kinda sucks. I still do the same damage as a level 4 rifles on marksman. And also, i'm not up to making 606 a pop with scyks up to concealment 1 (125,000 xp). What can i do to make this go faster. And another question. How come my imperial gunner and trooper won't listen to me. I keep saying, kill and they just go "!".

Its my understanding that faction pets can only attack faction mobs. They cannot betold to kill anything else.

For faster XP try quenkers on Dantooine. They give out 2-4k xp each and do not DB.

I hope this helps.

Hi Marksmen,

I'll recommend the FAQ for your rifle questions - in particular #4 regarding damage, but the whole thing is useful.

Regarding using faction pets, they will only work when overt and in factioned combat - meaning if you're a rebel, they will only work when attacking imperial players or non-player characters and vice versa for imperial.

As for gaining XP, I learned this trick as I am working my way to Master Rifleman.

The trick is you need a good a Mind, Focus, and Willpower. Mine are 1100, 850, and 850 respectively. I get a good dance and music buff, then I go hunting. I spam special shots, particularly I am fond of Headshot3, FlurryShot, and MindShot2. You may not have those specials available, but you should have like HeadShot1 and HeadShot2.

The reason you spam specials is that you get more XP for using special shots. When I am properly buffed, I can spam any special with my T21 with no impact on my mind pool at all.

By spamming specials, I can get 3500+ XP per stormtrooper or other equally tough creature. I spend a lot of time on Tatooine hunting with a ranger or scout. I can keep them awful busy harvesting dewbacks and banthas while I am racking up 2000-4000 XP per kill on the bigger critters.

not true about bonus for using specials. You get the same experience for a creature if you don't use specials or if you do. It just generally takes less time to kill if you use a special and that bonus time equates to more experience in a run

three things to increase kill rate and experience

1) group - you get an xp bonus if you group (even if it is with a entertainer droid or a level 1 pet you leave in your house)

2) high ap strong weapon - laser rifle, e11, T21, dxr6b will heklp you kill faster

3) use specials such as headshot to speed up the rate at which you can deplete a pool

I mastered Rifleman in 3 days.

Your primary concern at Novice is your Speed.

Use a spraystick. It's low damage but the faster attack speed makes up for it.

Having a good damage rifle is good but if your accuracy and speed are down it makes it frustrating as you will do Miss, hit , miss , they counterattack, dodge, miss , another hit.

Using concealed shot will allow you to take out larger enemies but keeping speed in mind would take a real long time.

I used a spraystick until I was able to use a DXR. The damage is low but the faster attack speed makes up for it.

I don't know your template but at novice rifleman I took on quenker missions using a spraystick spamming Point Blank Area 1.

Once you are able to use the DXR it will increase your damage. Once again keep speed in mind when choosing which one you buy. I used a 4.0 DXR.

Speed is what you want till you hit master and even then you still are not speedcapped.

I used a 1.9 speed spraystick which worked rather well. I did manage to find a 1.1 speed one but it did cost me a bit.

Doing 100-200 damage about every 2 seconds IMO is better then doing 500-1k every 5-7 seconds keeping in mind that your accuracy is still pretty low and will miss or they will dodg, couterattack often.
