where is a thread stating that the .5X damage multiplier was removed, and was replaced by a 2.5x to HIT modifier? i know I used to see threads about his all the time, but i can't find them anymore anyway thanks in advance.

you mean the 2.5x melee damage mod? - yes it was removed
we had it replaced with a melee to hit mod that makes us easier to hit - basically enough to cancel our entire melee defence mod - there is no hard number on this though

Melee have a to hit bonus to hit people carrying Rifles. However I doubt it is 2.5X. It's more likely a small percent increase or a flat number. If you use that 2.5X and actually multiply what that accuracy would mean for a melee. You'll get numbers in the +500 for some professions. That isn't very likely.

In either case, it doesn't make sense that someone can hit me better while trying to avoid a big @$$ rifle pointed at their head. Oh well, /shrug.

Its kinda wrong in the first place that we get anything like this. If we get even a small % to be hit by melee should melee have a small % to be hit by ranged?
