Anything and everything that is humanoid has an equal chance of dropping DoT weapons. Unfortunately since people tend to see what they want to see they believe that harder npc's will give better loot. I'm still trying to think of all of the locked containers and headwraps I've looted off of nighsisters and realize its the same from meatlumps. Then again I got a nice +6 medical experimentation off of a meatlump but only gimpy polearms off of nightsisters.

please check the loot revamp documents in the inconcept threads. Loot tables are all being revamped soon and anything said now will be obsoleted.

It's been quite awhile since the loot tables were adjusted. I remember when meatlumps used to drop crystals and SEAs. They now drop at best a loot kit parts. I use a +12 food experimentation tape looted from a NS Protector, but when was the last time someone looted that high of a tape from anything but an elder, Nyax, or the occasional surface marshall? I am of the belief that when they changed the loot tables, they adjusted drops so that the higher the MOB, the higher thechance of dropping good loot. I have been to the Tusken fort several times recently and looted the standard low-end DOTs, tusken gear, and low end SEAs. I've also kill several executioners and looted a few very nice SEAs. Black Sun wraiths have also dropped some decent gear lately.

I'm not really sure how the loot tables work, so I'm merely offering what I know from experience. Most of the good DoTs seem to have come from higher level mobs, although I've personally looted some decent SEAs from low level mobs as well. I know DoTs and SEAs are not the same thing, but there does seem to be a random variable whereby any number of mobs can drop fairly good loot. In my experience, the best DoT weapons I've seen have come from the Nightsisters but I know of a Tusken Rifle that supposedly came from a Krayt. I'd say that your best odds of getting a decent DoT would come from hunting Nightsisters, Krayts, or Geos. I know a few decent Disruptors came out of the Geo labs as well. Sadly there's no guaranteed way to get a good DoT rifle...it's just going to take time and a good helping of luck.
