Well, I wasn't happy with the 'time to xp' ratio of Fencer/Mdoc. It took me too long to kill mobs using Fencer.
I went Mrifles/Mdoc, and without using grenadesor even wearing armor, I earn, on average, 1.45 million Rifles xp and 145k Combat xp in a 3.5 hour buff session. That translates to turning in 180k FS xp every two buff sessions (3 x 900k Rifles, 3 x 90k Combat). I do not wait to max out Combat XP before turning it in.
What I do, is I pick one of the adventure planets, Dathomir is the best for this, and I just walk, killing everything I can, except for 'named' lairs... if the lair says what kind of creature is in it, it's someones mission lair. I stay away from NS Stalkers, Protectors, Spellweavers and Elders, because even when they're not 100% resistant to Energy and Acid, they still take too long to kill. Initiates, Rancor Tamers, Sentries and Rangers are fun, though I don't usually stick around long enough for them to respawn.
I pick my fights carefully; no armor means no damage reduction and I can get buried under a pile of Rhoa Kwi's, Gaping Spiders, or Rancors pretty quickly. This means I do waste some time in each fight pulling critters one at a time; I consider it practice for Jedi.
I should spend a buff session or two just killing Krayts, but I'm working on the last box of Ranged Defense and I still have all of Melee Accuracy to go.

Honestly... What will make the FS grind the fastest, is to pick 2 combat profs you like, and just go kill stuff. Don't think of it as a grind against time. Just have fun. Even at a casual hunting pace, with grind quality comp and well sliced base weapons, you'll cap weapon xp for both profs in one buff session just by wandering the adventure planets. No missions, just wander. Avoid the more difficult targets and stick to the critters that litter the planets.
If your a full time player with a dual combat master, all you need to do is to cap weapon xp for both profs 14 times during a 21 day phase, and you'llmaster the FS tree that you unlock in that phase. Anyone who grinds harder than that, is just going to burn themself out (before they get to the real grind) and still have to wait for the phase shifts to unlock trees.
For the not so full time players who need to grind FS fast so they can rush off to grind money missions, consider picking up Ranger (or at least Scout Hunting IV) instead of a second combat profession. There's gonna be a ton of carcasses lining the trail behind you, and all the meat & hide is worth something to someone. If you harvest your kills for sale, you won't need to rush off to do money missions, so you can get back to taking your time and having fun.
Remember... This is a game. If it feels like work, your doing something wrong.

Hmm... Alternatively, if you are speculating on doing a senses tree later then you definately got to take up ranger x.x.4.x while you grind. This way you'll most likely cap scouting xp, weapons xp and get some combat xp from each trip to the village and you won't have to worry as much about grinding senses later. However, ranger is a lot of skillpoints wasted on nothing, since you need to master scout for a full 77 skill points before reaching novice.
It's great to be able to track things though - I've come across alot of SMC guardians (SMC equivalent of NS spellweavers) who occasionally drop Quality Power crystals using it

hehe you don't need ranger to be able to get the quality crystals. I have gotten at least one usually 2 or 3 quality power crystals each time I hit just one of the Nitesister POIs. Now I know I am on a small server, Wanderhome, bu it should be pretty easy to hit those even on the bigger servers.
