Yes, I have read all the FAQ's and may just be missing this. I've been working rifles for some time but not to the grinding point. I love to play the game and do just that. Having said that, I'm 40k XP away from Master Ranger yet only at 2121 rifles. And I hunt my butt off.

Just last night I decided to actually work my rifle tree and can not for the life of me figure out how to get my speed tree up. I used flushing shot over and over but it would barely budge while I racked 4000 points of xp per hurrton matron and huntress I killed. I want the 4XX4 boxxes first but need some help in figureing out how to get the speed up.

Any help will be rewarded with a nice pint of ice cold Jawa Beer

Okay, you could try doing some grinding...you need 350k combat exp to get Rifle Abilities IV..
And you need 2650K Rifle Exp..
So thats only 265k Combat exp you get from rifle..But how can you get it then? Well you could pick up commando..Some does that...For the grenades, that way i think you can get your combat exp VERY fast...But els, you enjoy hunting, i am doing fine without IV rifle abilities(2-3-0-2)and so should you with a decent speed/dmg rifle..Personally im using a 550 max dmg 5.1 or so T-21...Do some quenkers missions, you should be able to get around 90k Combat exp in a buff session, just use point blank area while your buffed and wearing a nice base comp

So you're saying the way to increase rifle speed is to gain combat xp using grenades? That's poetic for this game. I want to master rifles, mostly to experiment with my Ranger template. I may ultimately drop some boxes for extra ch stuff but for now I want to master it.

I'm hunting with a DXR-6b with 466 max damage and 4.6 speed. Not too shabby, but I am getting a better one made as soon as I get a good scope.

Using grenades is the quickest way. But like you said it isn't the funnest.

To Master Rifles you will need a total of 3,675,000 Rifle XP to get 4/4/4/X. That translates to 367,500 Combat XP just from those. To get Rifle Abilities IV you'll need 415,000 Combat XP.

So just finishing off the other Rifle branches will get you most of the Combat XP you'll need. So you'll need another 47,500 Combat XP (475,000 XP of any weapon type, mix or match).
