I'm pretty excited at some of the new Mark II certs to be honest as it seems we'll be able to use Star Wars specific weapons like E11 rifles and Carbines at Master Level with at least some effeciency

If I'm not mistaken, there's something like, some weapons can be set to automatic fire, others can't, whatever that means. It would explain some (at first glimpse)redundancies I've seen in regards to certs.

I think this idea was more or less scrapped. From my experiences, any Marksman rifle or carbine can do the one full auto attack you get in Marksman.

as far as I know this is still on the table. (but as per anything here - subject to change)

Ewww.... Laser rifle at master? But it's so... Ugly.
That, and I have a strong Pavlovian aversion to them. I died too many times in my early days using a laser rifle to grind, I guess.

Reminds me of when I thought a higher speed was better. Ah the good old days of being eaten by chubas and butterflies....wait a second....we're still getting eaten by chubas and butterflies on TC5. There's only one logical conclusion. I can travel through time via my circa 1992 radio alarm clock. Who's coming with me?

Well I'm in.
Looks like I won't have to invest in that timetravel doodad on Ebay after all

Perhaps the difference besides, hopefully, higher DOT and improved speed is the ability to switch between the new beam types that are replacing the AP values. That would allow us to modify our attack for different situations without having to carry multiple rifles for different types of armor. We would of course still need at least one kinetic and one energy, but wouldn't have to worry about how heavy our opponents' armor is.

I think the whole beam/scatter etc. firing modes have been shafted totally and now there's only kinetic/energy + special damage - at least currently on TC I've seen no indicator on my weapons to switch firing modes as of yet but I might just be blind.
