As a MRM/MBH, I use an Advanced Laser Rifle. I'm mostly a solo PvE player. Depending on my mood, my opening attack will usually be /cover /concealshot /concealshot /snipershot, then quickly stand and knock down the mob using Underhand Shot. I can then either spam Startle Shot (this keeps many creatures permanently knocked down until they are dead), or else alternateAdv Critical Shot and Imp Head Shot for high-damage shots on separate timers. With this combo I can take out most CL 82mobs before they can do much damage to me, and before my action is used up. I don't really like kiting (I don't like to have to backtrack to my starting position after every mob I kill), so I try to deal as much damage as I can in a short time, then just stand my ground until the mob is dead, and heal myself afterwards. If it's a particularly tough mob, I'll activate Duelist Stance after I stand up, and sometimes throw in a Torso Shot or two for the bleed. Good armor (either recon or assault depending on who I am fighting) and medic skills definitely help me with this playing style.

Oh and does the KD + Root tactic still keep the target KD'ed until the root ends?
