Thread: Cybernetic Arms To Use or Not To Use that is my question

High level NPC killers - Do you use the cyber arms or is the trade-off in decreased armor protection to high. I would love to know if any experienced, succesful loot hunters out there use them. It seems that an extra 15 to 20 meters would be great to have.

It depends on where you hunt and what skills you have and how fast you can take down whatever you're hunting.
If you typically hunt in close quarters (caves/buildings) then the arms are fairly useless. If you hunt in the flatter areas of planets, outdoors, against melee opponents, then they're probably of use to you.

There's various clothing items that can give you decent bonuses, as well as being able to wear armour in those slots instead of the arms, which you could also have enhancements in.

Hard to answer your question is.

have to agree with mythor, the range bonus rarly benefits me as im normal on dath or in space or ina cave so i dont spend much time with 65 metter at my finger tips so i go for my few rifle speed tapes which i still use only +7 so far but i will get more eventually.

Mythor and Spawn,

Appreciate the input. I'm all over the board with my hunting right now. High level Reb NPCs, a couple turns at the 109lvl guys outside MO Dant [both fairly open spaces], and lots of cave crawls [Marauders, Geo, Aakuan, etc - all close combat].

Guess I need to make my mind up huh? Looks to be more of a pain in the arse than they may be worth. Think I'll hang them on the wall for now.

Would love to hear from someone who uses and LOVES them. What do you hunt, how do you use them, etc.

I use rifle with root and find I need to kite mobs when I'm solo. So running out to a greater distance means a few more seconds of catch up time for the mob chasing me.

I kinda foresee rifle getting nerfed with this arm, since 80m is way out there.

Anyhow, the game basically requires you to group, and being the one guy way the hell away from the group doesnt please people cause if you draw aggro, they have to run towards you.

If you are planning to take damage at all, and have both arms on, you are basically denying yourself 4 pieces of very good armor.

Thing is in a group, you may get away with no armor if you are good at avoiding aggro.I know as smuggler i can easily root things with no problems.

i only wear a legging armorwith 2 cyber arm. the rest are mods clothing with +30 rifle speed ,+25 rifle accuracy , +25 general range accuracy/speed , +57 Range/meele def.

I only hunt DJM though and without the arm i would have die so many time lol. The arm give me time to land more shot b4 i use root , snare or KD. 80m FTW

p.s and the reason i do not use armor is because DJM hit me 24k per hit with or without armor. but i dun usually wear armor , as long i can keep the target away from me , he's a dead meat.

I hunt a lot on Kashyyk and I love my two arms. Sure there butt ugly but I find them quite useful when I hit for three or four concealed shots at 79 meters then follow up with a sniper shot. By then, most things are pretty close to dead. If not, a well place kip-up shot usually takes em down. Then again I only do PVE now. Not sure how they would fare in PVP.

i personally took both my arms off so i cuold wear the full suit of scout trooper armour, but that was plainly for looks. Youve only mentioned pve so far and if thats your only concern i wouldnt use the arms - especially if your in a group. Where the arms start ruling is pvp or bounty hunting. I have got so many bikes from 75+m with those bad boys on. If you bounty hunt alot you notice how much time you are chasing faster enemies, so that extra range gives you a much better chance of getting a root off before the guy gets away

Yes. Just yes. No questions, just yes.

5 conceal shots before the get on you.

80m root (with pistol/smuggler) - not even rifleman NPCs can hit you.

Get Scout 4xxx, and you can kite up and down hills (especially good in Dath).

With BH, you can solo Rancors (conceal shot x5, root, sniper shot, head shot, move out of range, repeat).

If you're lucky, and are careful, you can take an enemy out with Conceal Shot without them ever getting any closer to you. Just wait till aggro goes, and it resets them (if they aren't facing you when you hit them, instead of moving towards you they turn round until you fire again and they get the direction - very clever).
