Thread: Question on Multipliers

Hey guys,
Been looking at the post on styles and I must be missing something. I noticed a while back that suprise shot must have a multi greater then 4.4. This is because I tested it 10 times and the highest damage would have multiplied my weapon damage by 4.4 if I had landed the top damage.
Anyway, I was out today helping a friend and decided to try Headshot 3 and take note of multi. Well, the top damage I got from 7 shots would have needed a x4.2 if I landed top hit.
Since I doubt everyone else is wrong, what am I missing?
Here are the numbers (and yes these are the chat box numbers and not the float numbers).
T21 323-117 Suprise shot:
636, 1359, 1296, 1427, 781, 1289, 1002, 1226. Top hit was the 1427.
T21 323-117 HeadShot 3:
1363, 1066, 821, 1141, 1021, 1043, 1042. Top damage of 1363.
Anyway, everyone else seems to think Suprise shot should be a 3x which would make this rifles top damage 969. They also seem to think Head 3 is 3 or 2.5x. Again, at 3x headshot3 would have a top damage of 969.

Surprise shot: 323 * 1.5 = 484.5 * 3 = 1453.5 * 1.25 * 1.25 * 1.25 = 2838.9 I think. ![]()
This is of course the perfect shot on the perfect mob and with my lack of math skillscould very well be wrong, but I think you get the picture.

Not sure where you are getting the numbers. Is the 1.25*1.25*1.25 the bonus for heavy weapons armor pierce? If so, that does not affect the results I got because those are the numbers I recieved in chat window, not floaty (meaning numbers before resist/armor pierce are calculated in).
Also, why the 1.5xweapon damagex3? basically, that is saying the multiplier is 4.5 not 3 as is claimed in most post on it.

Auto attacks always have a default multiplier of x1.5 over listed examine window stats.
In one of my first posts about damage multipliers, I had that lil "disclaimer" but it went away with posts and reposts of the table.
Anyway:
T21 117-323 Suprise shot dmg range in combat window= 526 (117*1.5*3) - 1453 (323*1.5*3)
Samespread for HS3 as it has a dmg mult of x3 like surprise shot.
