Thread: Is the ranged speed FS enhancement borked?

I've climbed to 0-2-0-0 on combat prowless making my ranges speed +6 now. I have not noticed a difference at all. I'm shooting a 7.0 speed t-21. Is it me or does this not seem to bring me closer to my cap?

slated currently for after or during the CURB... not a priority fix

Hello,

yes it's still broken. Too bad!

Anyway I wanted your opinion on a couple of problems I have please.

1)rifle speed

My main had Melee Speed and he's Jedi now. As Master Rifleman I was Crazy fast. Bad to say I took no measures of the effective speed I had for some specials.

My Alt is atm Master Rifleman (no MM) with a +6 rifle speed from tapes, so I have a total of 96 rifle speed.

I'm pretty sure my alt is a lot faster then what my main was. Why? I don't understand this.

Well, I have the melee speed and the ranged speed from fs with no marksman and no skill tapes and I shoot at the speed cap with a 7.2 spd T21.

My possible explanation:

FS speed is not additive to rifle speed, so I had no 90+12=102 rifle speed with my main. Can be multiplicative, so it's 90% and then 12% reduction of delay that does a total of 91.1%. If it's really so, forget to waste time into 1225k of FS combat prowes exp (4SP) to have such a bad bonus. Better have some +1rs tapes on the clothes.

I'm not sure that it's 12% because as I said already, the 12 speed from FS is the only other speed I have besides the 90 that rifleman gives and I'm speed cap with all my specials....so it can't be 12%

2)Bleed with conceal shot

Again with my main some months ago.

This is getting annoying to me now. I can remember some nice kills with my main. Some AT-ST, some giant dune kimos, 1 canyon krayt and some juves. I never had problems with that damm bleed using conceal shot.

With my alt now I can't do the same. After some 100 hits the bleed will appear and obviously I have to run away from my target.

Why this? It's a patch that introduced this problem? It's the rifle I'm using? I don't think can be the 28% wound chance. Any help with this will be very appreciated. In the while I'll test my 15-20 T21s to see if all of them put bleed.

Any comment on this?

bye

one thing that I do when using conceal shot is to /peace after any miss or after about 50 shots or so....wait about 10 seconds (or until I see my target lay down/rest if possible) then start up conceal shot again. Since i've been doing this, I don't get bleeds nearly as often as I use to.....although I still get them. On a couple of occassions during my solo krayt hunts that last couple of days, I've gotten bleeds on the very first conceal shot....sucks too because those damn krayts are fast as hell too.....I had a canyon chase me on my swoop for 400m before it gave up, and it was slowly catching up with me....I swear I never saw anything move that fast in the game before.

well thanks for the fast reply.

I was thinking the same before having the opportunity to see the shotting speed with two different characters. Sure I belive you. I'm little lost just as I see the 90 rifle speed and 12 enhanced FS speed in two separatelines. So the point is just have the exact math formula from the devs. Anyway I'm not complaining as I'm really fast and I just wanted to be aware of the in game mechanics.

about the missing with conceal shot.

you are aggroed if u miss:

1)1 time when standing

2)2 times when kneel

3)3 times when prone.

not sure how many when covered as I never use it.

I always fire from a kneel position peacing every time I miss and this works ... until the damm bleed comes!

WhenI see the bleed on the target I peace, mount and move away500m waiting some time. Doing this just remember to set a wp on the target ...

The bleeding problem seems to me a mayor nerfing of the rifleman profession as to kill a krayt of 270k ham u need at least600-800 hits and it's not possible anymore if the bleed comes.

Cover is a defensive skill, not a concealment skill. It has no effect on anything other than the amount of damage you take from ranged fire.

Anything else would leave me shocked. The correspondents have theirpositions (hopefully) because SWG is their passion, and they want to take an active part in making it better. The CSRs have their jobs so they can pay the bills. Some may like the game as much as we do, but I'm sure there'smore than a fewwho couldn't care less about the happenings in the game, aside from the scope of their job.

yup, I know about the different stances and how they work with misses with conceal shot....I just like to peace after every miss just to be on the safe side and because I personally feel that the bleeding chance increases the more continuous shots you take. heck I even sometimes just /peace after 30 - 50 shots even if I don't miss. As far as the bleeds go, unless I'm fighting a krayt or elder....I just switch to TKM and duke it out providing the targets kinetic resist are not 100%....however, I run from krayts and just kite elders.

Also, I've heard that ranged speed from FS is broken and that all professons use the melee speed line instead.....so it's quite possible that if this is true, someone without the melee speed line but has the ranged speed line may not be getting the speed bonus.....but like I said, it's a rumor. Devs haven't confirmed this one way or the other as far as I know.

this is a little unnerving....a CSR was at the shadowfire village last night. So i struck up a convo with him. He was not aware of any bug with the ranged speed and told be i should file it under /bug

LOL, most CSR's don't even know that they even work for SOE, much less know anything about the game itself. There are plenty of post in the jedi and FS forums about the ranged speed issue.....just look it up. Like I said though, it's a rumor, nothing has been confirmed to be true or false.

Also the correspondents seem to know more about the game than CSR's do, at least the correspondents play and test the game probably as much as the Devs do....CSR's just follow a manual that says do this and do that to fix said problem if it occurs....purely my opinion though.
