I haven't done any group PvE yet. Solo it's really strong if you can manage to only get one aggro
Dueling? I haven't lost to a non-jedi yet . . . longest duel was vs. a TKM/Doctor, lasted about 1 min 20 seconds. Most profs fall in 20 seconds tho
Large scale pvp is going to be wild!! Riflepersons (hi, ackhece
Picture this:
A squad of 4 carbineer/pistoleers rushes over a rise down toward a large knot of enemy SF players about to hop a shuttle. Just as the carbineers get into range and begin peppering states AoE into the crowd, the other 4 members of the group, all riflepersons, crest the hill and, picking their targets, pour massive DPS into the stunned, snared, rooted crowd. The pistoleers begin KDing and intimidating those who avoid the initial state attacks of the carbineers, both of whom keep the larged, but rapidly shrinking, group of enemy SF players focused on their state attacks. The riflepersons continue to incapacitate from range with their high dps, allowing the forward team to begin collecting DB's. Soon, the 8 man team has killed nearly 30 players. The large group, although surprised, did not have their riflemen properly deployed to receive a charge, and lost terribly . . .
Sound good? Yeh, as long as there're no jedi, the above scenario is very plausible.

Ya, I'd probably throw a cm or two in the group as well, however

A lot of how you will do depends on your secondary proff. Rif is high damage very suck defense. (ok decent damage until they fix conceal and sniper shot starts working all the time rather than a couple times a night)
I am (as of the last respec to play around) TKM/MRif and 2000 commando
With the TK defenses and innate armour I don't panic if I get 2 even cons while soloing on me, the rifle damage is high enough even without being able to use sniper shot or conceal shot that I easily take things down.
In group pve I found a MBH/MRif and I both did damn well, although his specials from BH were much cooler. However if we encountered ranged opponents he went down pretty fast.
Also in PVE be careful of spamming high damage shots. You will pull aggro and unless you took a tank class as your secondary you will be a dead rifleman.
Have not done any large scale pvp yet.
1 on 1, again this depends on your secondary set. You have the damage potential to knock out anyone. The question is can you survive thier damage or specials to do it?
I have not been able to beat any Master CHs yet. Pets are no longer just an annoyance. If you ahve commando and a CC proff you could take them out but I didn't go that way.
Melee have no chance against you unless you are really stupid. Kite them around, shoot them in the knee, smack them in the head, if they get close use your recovery abilitites and run away again.
Players with any combo of BH/COmm/Smugg/Pist/CM are DEADLY in pvp
Docs are notdeadly, but a pita to kill.

Oh secondary profession is bounty hunter
You will be just fine.
If you have the points you can pick up the roots from pistols and slternate knocking your opponents down and rooting them.

With my new CU Template (Master Rifleman/Master Combat Medic/Master Medic), I can even beat Jedi Knights. Non-Jedi players don't really stand a chance at all.

I dueled a bunch of people in my guild including jedi 1v1 i lost to all the jedi and only one of the non jedi the whole like 6 hours we were doing it. So in PvP 1 v 1 we're pretty good. As far as large scale PvP haven't tried it yet. PvE we're still awesome
