Hello,


I would like to ask AldeonAvardulinto please make a statement to SOE regarding knockdown. Soemthing has to be done to make knockdown less powerfull. The reason I am asking for this, is what happened to me not even 30 minutes ago.


Some imps raided AH, we defeated them, well about 8 min. after the raid, 1 imp came on the backside of AH and unleashed his pet, I beleive it was a rancor. He let him go, and then ran off, well I spotted him and locked onto him and ran after him.


At this time he does not know I am after him, because he simply stops running and rests, I get to 60-65m away and fire MS2 at him, well to my surprise it misses (laugh), He does not see me fore whatever reason, I can see him moving around looking for me, So I fire HS2 at him, well what do you know? a MISS, by them time I fired that shot, he had seen me and shoots back, hits me, from 60-65m away. I hit MS2 again, while my laser rifle is reloading, BAM he shots me with knockdown, I fall on my butt, he hammers away some shots at me, I get up, I hit MS2 again, nothing.. Im thinking.. Fire, .. fire... fire, come on FIRE at him, nothing.. BAM he again hits me with knockdown... he then hammers some shots into me, I get up, I press HS2, come on fire.. fire... FIRE at him!! ntohing again, I am guessing my rifle is reloading from the 2nd shot I fired at him from the start of the fight??? I dont shoot and BAM he hits me yet again with knockdown, he hammers at me, and guess what? INCAPS me. luckly a few rebels ntice me fighting and came to my rescue and incapped him before he was able to slay me.


Want to know what the punchline is? I had full health, he had HALF HAM!! Now granted, after he used those knockdowns he had pretty much drained his HAM. I did not know what profession he was, his title was Master Scout so I am guesing he was a BH, due to that and unleashed a rancor.


There HAS to be a restriction placed on knockdown. It is an UNFAIR skill. now granted, maybe and maybe if my MS2 hit him with my 1st shot, he would not have incaped me, but I DID miss and this was the result. Yet again, he was 60-65m away from me while he did this to me. So again the pistol range needs to be reduced. IM not saying Knockdown should be removed. It needs something down, either a timelimit on it or something.


What is your thoughts?

Personally, I think Knockdown, should be set back to the original HAM costs, and given a 30 second re-use timer in PvP. High level mobs, usually resist knockdown anyways, or it doesnt stop them at all. (They get knocked down but get up before you can get another shot off) And if they dont resist enough, increase it.

Ranges and knockdowns need adjusting.

There is something you can do about it, get some knockdown defense. With just +50 I was shot at with underhand shot 13 times doing faction vs faction, and was knocked down once.

Until I see a screen shot of that, then I cant beleive it. I have had pistoleers tell me that + to knockdown has never done a thing. Ill test it out later on see if its true.

Your choice to disagree, but it does work. I am not the only person who has tested it. Do I know how it works? Nope, I have no clue if it is percentage based or something else, but I do know it does work.


If the nerfs KD already has had is any indication, SOE knows it works too.

I disagree with the timer idea. I like what TekDragon recently proposed in the form of situational modifiers - such as 50% resistance to knockdwon while kneeling and 100% resistance to knockdwon while prone. This would actaully make combat more realistic and fun with people actually going prone and seeking cover, instead of running and gunning head on like idiots. What do you think, Aldeon?

Ill check into the defense thing also and I also like the 50% resistance to knockdwon while kneeling and 100% resistance to knockdwon while prone. etc. idea.
