Thread: ONE voice for the T21 issue, RIFFLEMAN RESPOND PLEASE
OK its becoming more and more apparent to me that the dev's are not gonna test things themselves and THINK THINGS THROUGH befor altering the game so i think its time we take the proverbial bull by the horns. What im suggesting is we figure out what would be fair for the T21,come up with a "fix" for it then we post this fix on the general discussion area. We then rather than post other idea's (which confuse the matter and give the dev's the opportunity to screw things up more) all post that we agree to these changes.
Anyhow here is what i propose we put into that thread.
First lets start with the stats of the Laser Rifle, its a weapon that has been around a while and so is tested by default. Personaly i think if you took the stats of the t21, but change it to AP3 you have a really good start. The problem with this weapon will be however that at the high end we will do massive damage due to the speed reductions that rifleman get as they advance. To offset this you have the high ham cost which prevents anyone from doing this damage for extended periods, and at lower skills you still have a high speed to offset it (8 to 10 speed is a good range). At lower skill levels however the 8 to 10 speed will kill the rifleman when you fire the weapon and get a shot that does under 100 damage, so bring up the min like the original T21.
So to summerise we have a weapon with 100 to350 damage (slightly lower than the lasers max damage), has a speed of 8 to 10 seconds, an AP of 3, and finaly the same HAM costs as the T21 now to make sure no one can do this damge for extended periods.
Please rifleman post your thoughts on this weapon, do you think this would still be too powerfull? Once we can agree on stats for this T21 we need our coraspondant to please post the thread with the proposed changes and we need to get together and make sure we all post we agree with them. AldeonAvardulin will have a bit more weight than us as the topic starter. As you post to this thread i have written please post any reasons you feel this proposed change would work, AldeonAvardulin will need to post as many facts and numbers as he can to make sure the dev's understand what we ask for is something that fits with thier vission of the game.
They should never have messed with the T21 in teh first place. I agree the damage needs to come up.
Case in point...
Currently, (On the Kauri server)Pistoleers can get unsliced DX2 pistols that can do76-123 dmg in 2.6 with HAMcosts of 21/39/14 for under 15,000 credits, Bounty hunters can get unsliced Scatter Pistols that can do do 96-155 dmg in 2.2 with HAM costs of 16/49/16 for under 15,000 credits and Rifleman can get unsliced DLT20a that can do 115-184 dmg in 4.9 with HAM costs of 13/28/25 for under 15,000 credits. So this means, in under the amount of time speed 10 takes places, Pistoleers can do 292-473 dmg and Bounty Hunters can do 436-704 dmg in the same time I can do 234-375 dmg. Huh!?!? And since the resources are so rare, the DLT20a is the best high damage rifle out that is less than 50,000 credits.
Factor in the fact that the T21 is projected to do 100-350 damage in 8-10 seconds, why get one since you could do more damage with a DLT20a.

Hmm sounds good to me, only thing I dont like it the ham costs on it, would rather it use "Action" seems more logical too.... but...

The T-21. Our best weapon. Given we are snipers by trade, our main goal is to bring something down, from a distance, in one or two shots. The way I see T-21's is 150-350 (maybe more on the min) HIGH delay of 10 or so, and medium to highHAM costs. This thing should drop something before it even thinks about attack us; However, if we try to take out a mob all at once, we should be hooped.
For AP, AP2 should be the way to go. Only heavy weapons should be AP3, if the devs ever try to fix them.

I'd really be fine with AP2 or 3, with the remaining HAM costs. As it is, the T21 is absolutely useless in PvE, but no slouch in PvP.... but worse than useless in a long fight.
If they rebalance *one* rifle radically, they have to rebalance *all* the rifles radically to fit this rebalance.
Unfortunately, we cannot expect that kind of thought and work being put into an obviously frantic rebalance. If weapon stats like these are so easy to change, why can't someone get to work in fixing the balance scale for all teh profession's weapons? I mean, these guys work full time, right? That should be more than enough time to power through one weapon class a day, right?
I think the best gun a sniper can have is a hard hitting gun with high "min damage" and LONG delay between attacks...

i think they should completely nerf the T21 all they want. 100-200dmg, 10 speed, AR0, and high HAM costs. leave that for novice rifleman. then when we get to master we should get the godly POSITRON RIFLE!!! 300-600dmg, 10 speed, AR5, and low HAM costs. i mean come on, they did it in evangelion... ohoh, and rifleman should get a super-high armor bio-mechanical giant mecha suit that we can run around in.
