I totally agree that the maxranges on crabines and pistols should be reduced... i mean heck if the snipers in the game have a max range of 64 and the pistol users have the same range then well heck that is a big problem.... carbines should be like 32-48 meters and pistols should be something more like 16-32 meters and the each pistol/carbine should have max ranges between that area... heck the commando's which you mention(me) have weapons that have dif max ranges some only have a max of 48 with specials being a max range of 16.. so the other classes should definetly follow the same system... and i also agree that rifleman should have really hard hitting damage do to their god awful slow refire times. Then again commandos should do some dang good damage seeing as we have refire times above yours heck rifleman are quick shots compared to commandos.. and commandos do far less damage and have ar0 weapons....

or just have a hardcoded drop in accuracy when you get too far out of ideal range, one that 'overrides' the current one. Something like this:
If you are within 10m of ideal range then you suffer no penelty
if you are 11-15m outside of ideal range you suffer a 10% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 16-20m outside of ideal range you suffer a 20% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 21-25m outside of ideal range you suffer a 30% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 26-30m outside of ideal range you suffer a 40% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 31-35m outside of ideal range you suffer a 50% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 36-40m outside of ideal range you suffer a 60% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 41-45m outside of ideal range you suffer a 70% chance to miss on top of your normal chance
if you are 46m or higher outside of ideal range you suffer a 75% chance to miss on top of your normal chance.
This would allow pistols to go prone in huge PvP battles and still do something at really high range, but in reality they would only be 1/4 or 1/5 as effective as the riflemen next to him picking people off... it would also allow carbaneers to have something unique (in that they don't suffer huge penelties at any range to hit their target).
hey Zetal that sounds like a really good idea... but what are the ideal ranges on the pistols i cant recall off the top of my head... havent really used a pistol in some time... are the ideal ranges on them low enough to ever make that big a drop cause i seem to think that some of the pistols have ideal ranges that are kinda far away...
