Thread: What in-game balance should be
First, let's start off with what in-game balance shouldn't be: Nerfed T21s. Nerfed TK knockdowns. Nerfed Droid Engineers with perma-death droids. In short, making everything equally bad.
Here's what in-game balance should be discussing some of the nerfed classes:
1. The Rifleman should be deadly in a long-range ambush situation. If you're in an area with a hostile rifleman, make sure and be very careful to lookwhere you go. Make sure to close the distance against a Rifleman as soon as possible or, at the very least, run away whilst capitalizing on the fact that he can't run as fast as you can. If you're a Teras Kasi artist, you'll demolish the Rifleman at close range. You just have to close the distance, first.
2. The Creature Handler has a powerful menagerie. Don't concentrate on his tanks. Kill him first. Attack in groups since he'll most likely have more than one creature with him. He has problems controlling his most aggressive creatures if you can lure them far enough away for a long period of time--remember that angryRancors don't like any other creatures and will attack anything in range if not controlled. A tamed Rancor is an oxymoron.
3. The Bounty Hunter is dangerous at all ranges. However, their pure rifle/carbine/pistol attacks aren't as damaging or as deadly as their elite profession counterparts. Just remember that they can capitalize on your range limitations if you're just a Pistoleer, Carbineer, or Rifleman.
4. The Teras Kasi artist (and most other elite melee professions) are DEADLY at point-blank range. Try not to provoke one in a Cantina or any other enclosed spaces where you can't run away. Ambush them at long ranges.
5. The Pistoleer is fast and mobile. Plus, he's accurate at short (under 20 meters) ranges. Try not to engage them at short ranges. Hit them at long range and hit them hard if you want to avoid damage. Teras Kasi artists will have better speed and accuracy at point-blank ranges, so you might not want to tangle with them at that range.
In short, each class should be able to knock any other class silly using their optimal tactics. You shouldn't survive a Master Sniper's ambush at 60 meters. You shouldn't survive a TK artist getting into melee range if you're a Rifleman. And so on.
Now, isn't this balance model so much better than the GIANT NERF BAT OF EQUALITY?
