We do we have both of these skills in the same tree? In fact, why do we have both of these skills at all?

Startle Shot causes, well, a "Startle" effect. A raise of posture.

Flushing Shot causes Stun and Startle.

Am I missing something? Is there ANY reason to use Startle Shot over Flushing Shot? And if not, why is Startle Shot HIGHER on the trees? I am legitimately asking. If someone can present me with a good reason, I'd be more than happy to hear it.

They must have REALLY thought there would be a lot of prone vs. prone fighting. (shrug)

Actually, if you read some of the earlier descriptions of things, I think they DID anticipate a lot of prone vs prone fighting. Sadly, the truth about the game mechanics did not support this theory. Mostly because it's harder to hit a moving target than a prone target, and moving targets can ALSO heal themselves.

That and the fact that I could go make myself a sandwich in the time it takes me to get up from being prone with my T-21 out.

I believe startle has a much higher chance of actually hitting with the posture up. That said, I almost never use startle shot since there's almost no situation I WANT my target to stand up. Stun is considerably more useful in any case.

Noules, I figured it was a better chance to change posture, but I honestly don't know for sure. As for the actual USE of the skill, it's annoying but true. We have four skills that cause our target to do the LAST THING we want them to do. Any target that's prone is shooting at me, and that's how I prefer them.

By the way, outstanding work on those tests you have been running. Were there an award for "Most Useful Contribution To The SWG Forums" you would win hands down.

So, does ANYONE use Startle Shot? Seriously? ANYONE?

Nah...beside Strife 2...I have always used Flushing 2...not sure why startle shots are higher in the tree...very strange...
