Thread: Strongest combo profession for rifleman for PVE

What is in your opinion the best combo for rifleman for PvE purposes?
I would guess swordman with some tka or fencer defenses?
maybe master brawler too for kd, intim. and better cob?
What's your opinion?

Kills just pile up for me in PVE, TKM is like no other because of it's meditation line and it's insane speed damage hits.

i'm rifle/tka right now (tka due to hologrinding) and there's nothing "normal" that i can't kill very very quickly.
haven't tried the ultra high level mobs, but there's no doubt that if you want to be all around effective, you can't beat that combo. you do need buffs for tka though-- even meditate isn't enough, since your secondaries are not affected

PVE, CH is still very useful. Put that meat shield in front you and wail away unscathed. Enraged rancor missions in a short period of time untouched. But, if you're trying to take down thesuper large MOBs (aka krayts), pets will die before you finish. TKA is the best for tanking krayts as far as I'm concerned...

strongest is Master Rifleman/master marksman/TKM with novice medic i think but im enjoying my template master rifle/marksman/commando with novice medic

I disagree. Swordsman makes a devistating combo with Rifleman, especially if you can get Master Brawler with it. I have taken on 5 enraged rancors at once, then after the dust settled, healed myself for less than 100 points of damage. I have been surrounded by as many as 7 Rancors and killed them all. Swordsman does awesom PvE damage because of the AP2 weapons and the ability to use kinetic or blast damage. Plus, if I start out with mind damage from range, and they survive long enough to get close to me, I can switch to Swordsman weapons and continue doing high mind damage.
TK is a good combination with Rifleman, no doubt, but for PvE, Swordsman rocks.

I've been tyring to figure this out as well. I'm keeping Rifleman but have decided to drop master ranger & instead master another combat prof but I'm not sure which. I think right now Rifleman/TKM is the best template. However with the combat balance finally coming in Pub8 it will ALL change, so I'm waiting to see before starting the grind up one of the brawler tree's. Who knows what the template is going to be then...could be ID/SL for all we know

For pve its RM/CH all the way. You will do even the 36k rancor missions in minutes...

I think with the melee penelty fix your better off going CH, if your planning on tanking while holding a rifle thats a bad idea.
