what is a good way to move up the ranks of rifleman and what trees should i move up?

i was having the same prob.. but today i went and bought an LE droid, a new laser rifle and some power ups.. and i tell you what.. i went to dant and let my little droid go attack huutrons.. while i took cover and blew their minds away.. 2k a pop.. easy.. not buffed.. and the LE droid with a ham of 2200 can take a nice beating.. going to make the trip to novice soo much easier.. there is a good post in the Faq about how to progress up the lines.. if i remember right it was mindshot 2 (sniper 1) then up the CS line

the stalwart for levelling Rifleman has been Counter Sniping 3, for flushing shot 2, work up Sniping 4 for accuracy, and fill in the gaps.

Yeah, any of the trees that offer AOE Specials is a good place to start.

Combat XP is the worst, Rifle Abilities took me the longest.

I was only about 20k or so combat exp from MRM when I hit IV in all the other trees...

I like cheese.
