Thread: What's Better: Master Sharpshooter/MCM or Master Sharpshooter w/4003 CM and 0440 Doc?

Gonna post this in the Combat Medic and Doctor forums, too.
I've seen opinions on both sides of this issue.
Some say that Combat Medic is not good enough unless you're a master (kinda like Master Rifleman).
Others say 4003 CM or 3004 CM with 0440 Doc with Master Rifleman is the ultimate PvP and solo PvE character because of the self-buffing and healing capabilities.
What do you think?

Both CM and Doc are best used when mastered, especially CM. Any successful non master doc template I've seen has been 4/4/4/0. Even at that level, you get the ability to get rid of disease and poison and fire and bleeding but you won't heal quite as well and your buffs will be decidedly substandard. And what's the point of being a doc if you can't buf??

Unless you are dead set on being able to buff and rez for some reason, 4040 Doc is a good defense against CMs, and will leave you more SP for Rifle.
4404 CM is still not too bad.....nothing like Master, but still pretty good.

4003 CM is pointless, you dont get poison C singles with that template and if you're not using poison c's why waste all those skill pts. As for Doc 0440 is also substandard, IMO. Why do you want rez ability? If you are going for PvP template, 4040 Doc is better, you can heal poison and disease and self-buff, with 3004 CM you can use poison c's and then master rifleman for heavy hitting near the cap on speed.

I think the optimized fotm-template you're looking for is MR, 4004 CM, 4030 Doc. Have fun.

FOTM is nice, but I'm really looking for a long-term PvP/PvE character, too. In my heart, I think Master Combat Medic is gonna get nerfed someday, so that's why I'm hesitant to give it up - you might need to be a MCM to be good at dealing poisons and disease soon.
