Thread: Cyborg Arm nerfs?

I heard that there is going to be a nerf to the Cyborg Arms. People have been taking advantage of the 80 meter attack range and taking down turrets that can't fight back. Since SoE would rather nerf something then just adjust the turret range, I was wondering if you guys heard/knew what they were going to do?

Turrents used to fire farther than 65m, I wonder what happened with with them.

The obvious solution would be to just put in a range penalty for rifles against turrets at long range .... it's not like they don't already have range penalty coding laying around the office .....
Or throw armor-crafters a bone and give them a craftable Turret Upgrade Kit that makes turrets immune to rifle-fire when the rifle fires from outside turret range.
But no, let's do the easy thing and just nerf-nerf-nerf!

I haven't heard anything from anybody who could influence change in the game. I'd hope they wouldn't nerf the arms that they just put in the game, "hey look that rifleman is exploiting by shooting at 80m", unless they are really bad at math then they knew it would give rifleman 80m of range.

I guess the big question here that SOE would consider in the "nerf or not to nerf' question is "Are the people with the cyborg arms using them to do anything BESIDES attack turrets?"
If they were to look and find that something like 75% of players equipped w/ cyborg arms are killing turrets w/o penalty, they are more likely than not to nerf the arms. IF they saw a pattern like that, they'd prolly assume the kiddiies are out their abusing their new toys.
I think we all know SOE abhors the possibility that anyone can do something w/o there being a penalty (the whole risk vs reward thing). They really dont like it when they see one of their 'rewards' being taken with no risk. That is the green light for the nerf bat to be swung.
Hey I think firing at 80m is cool, dont get me wrong, but I dont see SOE screwing around with the turret ranges and risking adding even more bugs that you will yell at them about.
If course there is the chance they will do nothing (with SOE that enters the realm of possibility) and you can keep using your arms as they are.

fix for cyborg arms > turrets on TC already
(no idea what the fix is as I don't wear cyborg arms.)
I suspect that turrets now fire at 128m

If that's all they do to turrents, I'm scared. they either need lower hitpoints, or lower power.
Already it takes 20 peeps including jedi to take out an unmanned turrent without using bait.

So they will be able to hit you 20 times in one second from 128m..... good thing they have priorities. The turrets are bugged as is. They should fix that 1st.

heard they are adjusting the turret range...thought that is what i read.
