The carbine crippling shot also slows the target...think it has got the same description for the shot...but it does it a lot better. While testing carbines I could easily use crippling shot and then semi-kite from any creature while killing them, including ancient krayts and such, can't do that at all with knee cap shot. And I'mCL80.
Carbineer are puppeteers so their snares work better then ours (they are ranked higher)
i think he just had a typo...
Btw, is it true that if more than 2 people fire off a kneecap, that the enemy would take in both snares and almost stop?

Does it still work now? I'd like to use that with my friend, specially on those fast ursori's...whatever

it was working but I always used kneecap and my brother crippling... better then a root (cause you can apply the root if you need it later ^_- )
I have found through my experiences that it does not completely stop the target, it only slows them down. Next time you are out hunting with a group, let them pull one and imediately fire the snare (kneecap) shot. Watch how much the mob slows down.
Also, I don't know what CL you are, but if you are hunting bobs much higher than your level it is not nearly as effective.
I back this up with my experience. While I was hunting gurks on Lok with a group of friends at CL40s, I noticed that the snare shot does almost nothing but as i got higher in CLs it seemed to work alittle better.
I am CL69 now and I can see a noticable difference in the speed of the approching target when i land an effective kneecap shot.
It slows the target down to the same speed you can run with a rifle in your hands. I have tested this on a level 94 ancient Krayt and it never caught up to me, stayed at around 60m. It would lose ground going up hills which I thought was wierd since it was bigger than most of the dunes that were slowing it down. Mobs usually hit the retreat button if you try this tactic for any length of time, but it is a good way to take out creatures your own level and get away from large creatures. After about 3 minutes of chasing me the ancient decided I didn't look like a big enough meal to warrant all the exersize it was getting and walked off. I did not even come close to killing it and was missing over 50% of the time due to level difference.
