No, becuase when I had just master rifleman. (+90) speed, I used HS2 instead of HS3, becuase dps was way higher, and I used must less mind per amount of damage done. Now, you can't use a less advanced version of a skill.

Rifleman really doesnt need to be nerfed, but some fixes do need to be made, like startleshot.
the only mention of a fix to the imbalance of rifle, was blixtev mentioned that he could slow down the rate of fire of rifles. he said 'its' slow now but we can slow it down more' and smiled.

This is not negotiable nor desireable. I will not stand for it. We already fire slower then everyone else and we have SAC costs that are much higher then everyone else. I would not mind a great short range accuracy penalty but a slower speed yet would be wrong.
I will otoh point out that he said he could slow it down more but he did not say he would slow it down more.
You have a cooler head than I do. Pre cu, commando was 169 sp spent that was almost worthless, the only thing I could do with is is either lagg someone to death, or kill really big game. For pvp, and most pve, it was alll about the T21/drxr-6b/jawa. Now, both proffessions are about worthless.
I saw some comments in the commando forum about not being able to beef up commando's weapons, because what could happen if someone used the highest damage weapon ig, with the highest damaging soecial (snipershot). True, It would do increadible damage. How ever, isn;t that the point of stacking two 5 offens rating proffessions together?
This is a good point, especially the last sentence. Would you mind bringing this up to Starnick?

So... instead of just upping Carb and Pistol range to 65m and bringing down Rifle SAC cost to a negotiable balance... they're just going to make rifles slower?
Minimum range seemed fine to me, or at least give large accuracy penalties or something to ensure role dissimilarities, but nerfing speed? Why?

I would take a speed nerf over a min range nerf anyday
I prefer to see our sac costs go up if that is what is required for balance. Speed and range are just fine. If we hit to hard - make us hit shoot our specials lesstimes not slower.

Exactly, that is why my first template was Master Rifleman/Commando/4-0-4-0 Smuggler.........
well Starnick and I agree about that as well... Check my post of an alt idea in the commando forums...
Really, the available range for various moves should be capped by the profession they come from, not the weapon you have equipped. So, just being able to use a T-21 (master rifle) doesn't mean you can use an ability of any other combat profession to (for example) root at the range of a T-21. That's only sensible,
The current design only encourages the kind of combat profession stacking that the CU was meant to fix.
