exactly...pick a mob (any mob, don't tell me what mob you picked!)
open fire
Run
Continue to fire on target while you run
Try not to die...see its simple

All you do is run around and shoot the mob while it chases you. If it isn't too fast, it doesn't catch you and you kill it with little or no harm to yourself. Kiting is just that, you run around like fool trying to get a kite in the air. In this case, the mob is the kite.

So in a sense, once something is kited... It actually runs slower?

kite is just a term, not a state or attack.
By attacking something and running away from your opponent's max range (say you're running with your rifle firing at a swordsman trying to catch up), you are kiting. It's as if your pulling the enemy towards you as you run, like a kite. It's insanely cheap and it's even cheaper now with snares and roots

snare ify ou have something other than kneecap shot, if they get in melee range, stop for a second, firearm strike, startleshot. run. fire once you are at an optimum range
