Thread: Kintec damage rifles
Language Police says: "Kinetic" not "Kintec", and "Tusken" not "Tuscan". ![]()
Onwards to the point. There are as far as I know two decent kinetic rifles, one is the craftable Tusken Rifle, the other is the Quest Reward LD-1 Rifle. A Tusken Rifle can be made with Goraxbone loot to increase damage and speed. I recently made one using an extreme goraxbone with +172 damage and -0.4xx speed. It turned out rather good, but still does not compare to a nice Advanced Laser Rifle. It might still be useful is the enemy has lots of energy protection.
bowcasters are decent kinetic weapons as well. Not sure what mine are off the top of my head, but I think they are in the range of modified dps of 500 or so, give or take 10.

No it is CL40. My CH/RM uses one.

the way i've found bocasters amongst the wookiee friends i have i would pretty much say they are a kinetic t21. Imho that's the best comparison because if you get a nice one they're around the same damage and can be made VERY nice.
on another note, NO MORE DPS!!! IT'S WORTHLESS YOU HEAR ME???? WORTHLESS!!!!
sorry, i have to do that every time i see a dps comparison

DPS isn't worthless, it shouldn't be the all important thing when looking at a gun though. If you are sacraficing max damage for DPS then you need to be taken out back and shot. And yes my Assault Bow Casters are just 1 step down from my T21...but my T21 has some +130 Krayt Tissue in it

I think that people like to list DPS because it is only 1 number to write down. The major problem is that listing modified DPS is bad for comparing, because then a single combat mastery rifleman might have a really good rifle that lists poorly compared to a level 80 stacker with high speed and accuracy with a poor rifle.
I'm nerdy enough that I like listing the whole kit and kaboodle for comparison. Special action cost is important in some situations. Max damage is important in standard hunting situations when it is likely that your accuracy outweighs your target's defense. Looking at the minimum damage can be useful if you are going after very high end MOBs that will presumably have very high defense.
