Thread: This is lame worst feedback on a very important issue

4) Pistol VS Rifle Ranged Accuracy – Pistols accuracy from 64 meters seems to be equal to the rifles accuracy at 64 meters. But when moving closer to a target, the accuracy on a rifle suffers, while pistols remain the same.



Both are equally inaccurate from max range. The difference is within maximum range.

honestly, how else can you read that but to mean "Both pistol and rifle sucks at max range, but pistols are awesome at close range and the rifle still sucks, swtich to pistol just like us so we don't have to fix you"

Ok, here are the differances that Q-3PO spoke of: Take the T21 for example, our "pride and joy". The differance between that gun and pistols, is that the T21 stillhas a PENALTY at its IDEAL range. No wonder we can't hit anything.

I'm listening to SRV doing Pride and Joy as I read that, Comet. Almost pulled a spit take. I agree with the sentiment expressed in this thread, read my post in the sticky thread about the apparent incompetence exhibited by the folks at SOE responsible for the rifleman class.

As a Novice Pistoleer in my main character, I think this issue does need to be looked at. I mean, come on, I can go prone and snipe with my Scout Blaster from the same distance a Rifleman can with the best rifle money can buy. And I don't miss all that much. And it seems kind of silly.

What they need to do, IMHO, is slightly shorten the pistol max range and increase it for rifles. At the very least there should be sniper-type rifles that can shoot for considerably farther than a pistol. If for some reason the devs think 64 is as far away as anyone ought to be able to shoot, they should make the range modifiers less linear so a Pistoleer like me would suck at sniping compared to a Rifleman. There has to be some difference beyond just draining a different pool and having higher potential max damage, doesn't there? I like being so omni-competent when it comes to shooting distances, but I can't help feeling that it just shouldn't be this way.
