Someone in another thread said he isn't getting xp for damage done with dot attacks. Can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm that. But you never had. You set the DOT, then u have to shoot the creature once with a normal shot. That one normal shot is what gets you the full exp.

oh I know about that, I was afraid they changed it so I didn't get that xp, but you're saying it stayed the same as before?

Yep. It still gives no exp even if it bleeds to death with only the mindshot and no other shots.

I killed a gurrcat full pistol for 300 XP, then tested it with a bleed shot and torso shot first, then finished it off, got under 200. The other XP was done by fire and bleed and it dissapeared.

If this is correct and not a bug (which it may not be as patch nots said they fixed a bleed 'exploit') then bleeds are gonna suck PvE from now on

I just killed 3 baz nitches using double bleed and hs2/warning shot spam, got more exp than prepatch on all 3.

Bleed DOEST not count towards any type of damage.

So when you do bleed you need to shoot it once.

This can be abuse, when I had to do the extra 60k combat XP, I mind bleeded Banthas, and thorugh grenades at them, kiting it. (Only doing grenade dmg and bleed) Gave me full combat XP.

Yeah, I've abused it too... put big bleeds on baz nitches, then pulled out my pistol/carbine to get to master marksman.

Now have any of you compared the xp you would have gotten from the creature if you had NOT used any type of bleed on it? Is that the same amount as if you had used bleed shot?

It will be the same becuase bleed doesnt count to any damage even though it does kill the mob. I would try, but however grenades do 8-20 damage and I miss everyother grenade, so it would take forever.
