Thread: Should I be forced to use pistol close up?
Because of horrible problems with rifles at close range, 95% misses, x3 melee damage, stutter-step issue, my friend says I should use a pistol close up.
Is that reasonable? Should I be forced to pursue two trees while other classes are fine with 1? Wouldn't increasing max range fix this? Right now creatures can get within melee range before I can get off the next shot, then I am incapped. Even on easy creatures like vrelts, because I miss so much and have to run to even be able to FIRE my weapon, except of course I can't run because the stutter issue makes me just stop moving.
*sigh* I hate to complain like this but I feel so very, very frustrated.
Ah, then your already set, you probably wont be using your weapon much however, but sniper shot. You can AoE poison them all to death, then just out heal everyone.
No, Im just saying as a combat medic you wont even need a weapon. Becuase AoE Poison is so powerful, it takes on packs of people, and all you have to do then, is maybe assist with the rifle using HS.
A Rifle is a good complement to a Combat Medic, becuase you can Head Shot the people further down, so it onl takes one tick of poison. And Poison works really fast. Were if you want to go master combat medic, you cant go BH for eyeshot, so your best bet is yes to stay Rifleman.
The problem is, knowing first-hand how pistols can handle any range, it's hard to choose Rifle knowing I'll automatically lose a ton of flexibility because I'll need another skill for close work.
I should not be able to snipe with a pistol as well as I do. A Rifleman should blow me away at sniping. A true sniper should be able to shoot things I can't; i.e. there should be a range extension somehow, somewhere. But the real crux is the imbalance of range modifiers.
