Thread: 4/2/4/3 Riflemen, and some comments....
First of all, weapons. Summed up in 1 word, middle range, tad higher dmg than pistols, but a hell of a lot lower than rocket launcher/flame thrower (which could be expected).
Some stats
Pre-nerf T21 (153-417 @ 7.0 DPS) HS2/HS3 = 1,600-2,800 dmg. FS2 = 1,600-2,800
Post-Nerf T21 (117-335 @ 6.0 DPS) HS2/HS3 = 800-1,300 dmg, FS2 = 800-1,400
As you can see above, we get quite a cut in dmg we can deal.
For all the people saying waaahh my rifle is SOOO slow. with a 6.0 Rifle, I'm down to 2.0 with speed bonuses, and I only have a +60 (or is it +65 I can't remeber) Rifle speed bonus. Using my laser rifle which is 4.4 (30-357) I'm down to 1.5ish. I deal out plenty of dmg compared to pistols.
Warping MOB's I've seen a LOT less of this, I don't know if they devs have changed something, but it's been happening a lot less.
Now, another question is Why can a Laser Rifle do more dmg than a T21?
The whole concealment line is absolutely useless. I've tried using it. It's pointless. It needs to be more useless, I don't agree with being able to hide off radar, but something.

Actually hiding off radar is kinda a good thing. Going back to my FPS games, in SOF2 they introduced a new gun called the MP3.... used alot at first, because(I'm just tryin to draw a parallel and how hiding off radar is similar)when people first started using the gun, nobody was that adept at WATCHING where the gun fire was coming from, they just heard it(if they have 5.1) and knew it was to the back left or whatever, turned and fired. When the MP3(silenced) came out, there was people running and jumping in circles trying to find who the heck was shooting at them... which was sooo funny, but eventually you saw where the bullets hit the wall and knew where to look.
Now connecting it to this issue in SWG, I think it would be a great idea for you to disappear of radar in PvP, so the enemy actually has to use his "in game eye" to find you on his screen. If you get shot, you can tell if it was from behind, or in front or whatever, AND in this game, for some reason snipers(rifle) shoot a barrage of gun fire for each shot(most snipers is a one shot kill, not 1 shot hit and 10 other shots just for the hell of it..but back to my point). This barrage of gun fire always has a few that miss the target and go on for a while. I don't know about you but if I see 5 lasers flying in front of me moving away, I would only assume someone behind me is shooting.
I think there still needs to be some adjustments to the concealment stuff. 1 thing for sure, is the stupid tumbling thing. It shouldn't take me 10 secs to lay down on teh ground.... But tumbling is an issue for pistols too, Did you ever see Han Solo roll on his shoulder and come up to his knee and wait for 10 seconds before shooting? HAHAH, no, he was probably shooting all the way through the tumble(not sayin THAT should be in the game).
I do know concealment has to be fixed somehow... and I think in PvP that is a good idea to disappear of enemy radar...( or maybe on the Ctrl+M at least).

Err.. FS2 on that pre-nerf T21 should be 918-2502.. and on that post nerf T21 it should be 702-2010... ignoring armor piercing.
Well, I really don't think you should be able to hide. Here's why, your not a sniper in SWG, your a Riflemen, sure your title says your a sniper, but end of day, your training a riflemen tree. If you look at the top of the concealment tree it says your a hunter, (not a sniper, that's at the top of the accuracy tree). Also, if we happened to get the hide ability, Sweet jebadahi! PEople would moan like there is no tommorow, Suddenly everyone would find a reason....
I'm a Commando, I should be able to hide too, Commando's are sneaky people, look at spec ops (arguably they are commando's and use stealth). So why can't we. Hey, I'm a bounty hunter, I need to sneak up on people to quietly kill them, why can't I hide too! Hey I'm a Ranger, I special in wilderness, why can't I hide from people!?, etc, etc, etc.
So hiding is bad, we don't need it. What we do need, are our weapon damages looked at, and if they like where they are, look at everyone elses, IE: why does a flame thrower do melee? etc.
And, they need to make concealment do more/have a use. And any dev who says to me, Well takeover is EXCELLENT for PvP, obviously have never PvP'd in there life.
I played with this, start a duel, by the time I get into prone/ do /takecover (I'm half dead), I got 1 shot off, then the person walks up to me, stand right in front of me and blows the living $%#% out of me. Mean while, I can't shoot back, cause oops.. i'm prone/can't move and cause there in front of me, I can't fire back.
Ok so, meant to be used in a raid type setting, Well that doesn't quite work well either. I lay prone, take cover, the fighting moves away, I stand up, run within range, repeat, fighting moves away. I can see concealment (and it's only special attack) useful for mob's. But, unless I'm hunting cu'pa or durni's I'm screwed. I've tried it with all the rifles, and it's useless. Sure they don't notice me. And I get them down to 50% health/etc. But, then I set around for 5 minutes while I heal up. and repeat.
Which is fine, but come on dev's give us something else!
