Hi All,

got this baby crafted a few days ago and would like to check how good the stats are...

Trandoshan Hunter's Rifle Mark-1B:

Base Type: Energy

Attack Speed: 2.33 (after 12% speed slice)

Damage: 491 - 1097

Accuracy Bonus: 14

Wound: 31.05%

Est. Base DPS: 340.13/sec

SAC: 86

Not yet Master Rifleman so i cannot post the modified stats.

Opinions please...and shall i ADK it?

Thanks

Id use that for show and save my adk for a laser rifle. You could get one with 82 sac and 1100+ max dam on my server for 3-4 million. Speed is irrelevant and so is dps as long as your modded speed is under 1.9 in my opinion.

Anyone else got comments on this? Is DPS really of no relevance?

Thanks

To quote Badgersmaker:

You can ignore "Estimated Base DPS" and "Your Modifed DPS" due to the following reasons.

The formula used for calculating DPS on a gun is as follows:

Estimated Base DPS = Minimum Damage+ Maximum Damage/ 2 + elemental dmg / Attack Speed

Your Modified DPS= Minimum Damage+ Maximum Damage/ 2 + elemental dmg / Your modified speed

This formula doesn't take into account any Special Action Cost costs, damage modifiers from special moves or accuracy. Lets look at a couple of guns.

Hope thats helpful to you.

i think the rifle kicks A$$, so i would recommend ADK'ing it, then i would go to kashyyyk and kill many bantha!!! Muahuahuahua!!!

p.s. i think dps is relevant, the higher the better, or else they wouldnt have it

How do you work out what your modified DPS will be before you buy a gun.

It very much depends on the other rifles available on your server. On Eclipse, if you have the credits, you can pretty easily come byfour 125+ damage krayt tissues, which would tweak a rifle (advanced laser rifle or thrandosian) to 1100+ with good sac.

Being an experienced weaponsmith on one of my characters and a rifleman on my other, I have to join the group that says speed and DPS is pretty unimportant.

Main thing is Maximum Damage.

Second most important is low SAC. All rifles have 82 as the very lowest possible. Get close to this.

Third go for lower speed.

Now there is the theory that SAC below 95 is unimportant, since alternativ two simple shots provide just as good damage-per-time-output as using hardhitting specials, but I often find myself hunting in groups where we want to take down the enemy fast and cannot kite around. Then specials are good.

To answer your question again: it all comes down to whether you think you can get your hands on a better rifle. I can brag about awesome rifles with better stats, but that's kinda beside the point. It's what YOU think you can get ahold of that counts.
