Thread: How much of a difference does a speed slice make?

I'm wondering if the increase in speed is very noticable from speed slices (and if so, at what %).
I recently went from MBH/MRM/Pistols0404 to MRM/MCM/Carbineer0440 and I find I'm firing noticably slower. I have 85 speed with my rifle equipped (no SEA's, yet).
I'm getting a rifle made and I don't know whether to try and get it near the dmg cap pre-slice so that I can throw most of the customization into speed, or if I should get it around 1100 and get an 8% damage slice (to bring up min damage) and 2% speed slice (and 2% crit).

As a smuggler as my alt and my main toon as a riflefish I did the 3 damage slice 1 speed and 4 speed slices on indentical rifles. I don't have the stats on me but my dps on
3/1: 546
4 speed: 598
Same rifles. I hit alot harder with my 4 speed slices. This also helps me make more money as a smuggler. The 4 speed is all I recommend now.

So if I understand this right, the best course of action is to ask for a rifle crafted to max damage and then speed slice it?
