Hey guys,

I heard rumors that the devs may cap the speed on rifleman specials attack at 2 or 3 seconds. Is there any truth in this?

Just a rumor right now. We won't know anything till they start working on the new systems.

I have a few questions about this and why does everyone complain. I'm not a master rifleman, but working up to it. 3/0/0/2.


I have heard that HS3 can be fired at once a sec by master rifleman and that is too fast. How many of these people have fired HS3 more then5 times in a row? I take 175 mind damage for each HS3 when un-buffed. I'm wondering what I'll do when I do get faster, take myself out even quicker then before? Yea you can get quick but you can't constant spam specials even buffed.


In addition, if rifleman speed was lowered, what other class can I take to make up for it? Pistoleers and Carbineers have BH to dabble in to make up for where their classes lack.


As for hitting up close too much, might be true for masters, but I'm lucky to hit even half the time up close. Add that to my 175 mind cost per shot, and I spend10 secs to make 2 shots with total of 350 mind cost for 1 hit. What other profession is that slow with that high HAM cost?


I'm having a real difficult time understanding the complaints about rifles being too fast and hitting too much up close. I just don't see it, my biggest problems hunting are speed and not being able to hit up close.


I think the real issue people are having problems with is the buffs and defense stacking, not rifleman itself.

Maybe after you master rifleman you will understand what people are talking about, unless you're master you wont have the speed mods or the accuracy to shoot fast or hit up close. And as for the mind drain there is some very good chef drinks that pretty much negates it if you have your stats migrated correctly. So I wouldn't say the HAM costs are so bad for riflemen. Carbines are worse of when it comes down to HAM costs.

I agree on that reducing the speed without having any other proffesion for rifleman to dabble with would be a bad idea. And you are right about it's not pure riflemen people have issues with, well most of the time atleast, its defense stackers using rifles while being pretty much unkillable.

Master Rifleman = Great


Its that much difference, trust me.


As far as HAM costs, well, prepare to keep grinding missions after you hit master just to make money. To be effective constant doc buffs and food/spice/entertainer buffs are also required. BE brandy goes for 300+k on my server and is worth every penny.

What are your mind stats set to? I have mine at 1100/800/600 and when I take 2 Vasarian Brandies and a Vangerian Canape my mind bar hardly moves at all. If your mind secondaries are set at a decent level, check to see if the rifle you are using has a stock. Stocks add to damage but also increase HAM costs.

the brandy is good, but get canape... no need for milk or moun then... +774 to focus and willpower for 10 mins, 37 filling... full stun composite, no musican buffs, and my focus is at around 1600... my toon is zabrak, 1000/500/700 for the mind pools... with a double-shot of brandy and a canape...


400-600k for a crate of brandy and a crate of canape... 20k dathmor bolma missions or 20k dant mokk missions... thats 30 missions... i can usually get 2-4 missions (depending on distance) per dose of canape... but 2 hrs of mission grinding and i can easily make the money to cover all expences...

im human, my stats are

400/500/500

400/400/400

1100/1100/600

i use 3 brandies

get full buffs

and have a moun on hotkey for emergancies

end up with 3k + mind stats
