Thread: Simple Truth about Rifleman.

I have been a MasterRifleman for a little over 4 months now and i would like to share my thoughts on it. The Rifleman profession is a very well balanced profession by itself. It has adequate defenses to let them survive and very good offense to kill with. Basically the whole point of a Rifleman is to kill the target before it reaches you. If you fail to do so, you should have an increased chance of dieing. Thats exactly how the profession is at this point. The thing that makes everyone want to cry nerf about Rifleman is because many have extreme stacked templates. But keep in mind that it isn't the Rifleman profession in itself. It is the combination of multiple professions. In the next patch that deals with defense stacking, we will see exactly how good the Rifleman profession is. Untill then, i think people should think before they post another nerf thread. Please feel free to discuss my post in an intelligent manor.

Your post was well organized, was written in complete sentences, and was an overall pleaseure to read.

I would like hope that people will post intelligently, however there is a problem.......

Many of the people on this forum are younger players. Not knowing their ages makes my next hypothesis a bit shaky. Before the ages of 13 or so, a child has yet to develop a set of abstract decision making as part of their cognitive functions. Simply put, before a certain age, there is a limit to how much abstratc thinking a person can do. This can be proved by trying to teach a child how to solve equations that involve such things as derivatives and imaginary numbers. Since the terms aren't physical, they would have a harder time to understand it. Now, there are times when a child may develop this skill early.

the whole reason for this long explaination is this. If a poster is young, they may not have the ability to take everything about a profession or the gameplay dynamics into effect when making a decision, leading to the disgruntled poster who will not listen to reason.

However, there are also older posters who are just either bitter about playing a broken profession or are unable to find joy in the game without seeing something better than them destroyed. Also, there is the possibility that the poster may just be a complete jerk.

My whole point is this:

No matter how many of us try to have a well organized, mature, and thoughtful discussion, there will always be at least one person who doesn't like what is happening, and will make a post full of irrational, emotional, unfounded accusations, which will in turn create posts that ounter the point of view in the same irrelevent manner, thus leading to a possible intellectual thread to become nothing more than a cess pool of mindless flames and rants.

I enjoyed your post, and hope to see more of your ideas in the future. However, there is one thing that we must not kid ourselves about.

To some people, the best way to fix their profession is the destroy all of the others.

According to valuable sources, well-born children in the 18th century could learn such topics as philosophy and morals, at the age of 3, and be able to discuss them at length and form their own opinions. Just throwing that in there

Yeah, I read about that. I honestly don't know what to say about that one, as I have been discussing it with people recently. The example that I gave were based off of the research of Dr. Piaget, who is still considered to be one of the most influential thinkers into how the cognitive process of children developed and worked.

It is my belief that many of these children were actually able to understand the moral values and philosophies of the arguments. However, it is also possible that some of these children were just repeating the information that they have been taught.

For example, an adult says "(insert philospher here) says that life has no meaning". Child then responds with what they have been tought, such as "well, (insert another philosopher here) says that although life may be meaningless, it still holds meaning for those who live in it".

This is just rough example, since it is 3 am and I am tired. lol

This definately take s acertain amount of intelligence to do, but could still be done.
