not sure what you're talking about. macros aren't illegal; i use them all the time.

for the original poster-- what do you want it to do? i use status effect macros, weapons switch macros, armor equip macros, and harvest/loot macros frequently

To single pull critters, the best way to do this is to bleed them, so:

/Mindshot2;/Pause 1;/Peace

(You may need to adjust the Pause, but the pause is needed to keep the Peace from executing before the Mindshot has a chance to fire).

To milk a lair, you need to damage it, then wait to see if it spawns something, so:

/Attack;/Pause 1;/Peace

(Again, you may need to adjust the pause. You can also substitute a special to do more damage than just the normal attack. Just do not use a bleed or a pool specific attack, they do not do anything to lairs.)
