its true that you really dont know how much you miss something until its gone. this episode with BH has shown me that my true calling is creature handling and rifles.

no worries im RUNNING back with a T21 in my hands. fortunately i had enough banked XP to make it to abilities2 which will make it go a LOT faster should be re-mastered before next weeken heh. *brandishes 4.4 speed T21 at Bounty Hunting*
dont go there guys heh
welcome back
...
just a silly question, but can you trade FP for investigation exp???
wonder what will take you longer MCH or MBH...

nope cant trade faction for invest. sucks gotta grind it all out.
probably MCH with the new rules. took me a week last time with the dual pet XP. but this time i also know what im doing heh. i have a whole inventory of nice pets but im stuck using a bantha for now :/
the investigation line took me 4 days the majority of it friday saturday and today saturday i ground invest from 9am to about 1am and today it was 9am to 4.30pm when i mastered. i was averaging about 3 missions every 75 minutes. relatively few bugs so it went pretty fast. i think i had a total of 10 no show or totally bugged missions three of which caused CTDs. made 1.2 million creds profit or so

why did you get MBH? it really doesnt sound like you were holo grinding since your going back to rifleman/ch unless you did unlock with MBH or your just giving up on the holo grind which doesnt seem unlikely or you would of gave up on BH long before you mastered judging by your comments.
good question and its the one i got from my friends in game too.
i started out as a BH from day one. i never did master it because of all the horrendous bugs. running missions for 8-10 hours and getting only 200investigate XP because most of the time the missions werent completeable. ever since they changed the rate of XP gain and cleaned up the majority of the BH mission bugs its beenhaunting me to go ahead and finish bounty hunter and have done with it once and for all.
when i gave up on BH there werent any holos that gave out professions they were just decorations. i did give up rifle once before to do the holo grind when we all got holos for x-mas. mine went silent after doing BE and chef. then i ground out all the novice professions and they announced the changes to the path to jedi upcoming so i stopped and went back to rifles.
ever since the thoughts about "am i missing out on bounty hunting??" have been nagging me and the thought of not finishing that skillset was bugging the hell out of me. so i figured i would give it a shot with the upcoming changes to jedi bounties might be fun. i just didnt count how much more fun i was having as a CH and riflewoman than i thought BH was going to be.
i found out that BH just didnt offer the same hunting ability of CH and rifles and taht is what i missed most. it took me a lot less time than i thought to master BH i was counting on at least a month or more. took even less time to figure out that it is not what i want out of my skills and game time. but that demon is dead and i can go back to my pets and my rifles.
oh... it didnt open my force slot but that isnt why i was doing it. i am glad it didnt because i want to do the quest thing to get jedi and by that time the jedi trees and skills will be re-vamped to something better most liekly.
but its not like grinding skills is that difficult for me in this game. the longest its taken to grind a skill so far is the 8 days it took to master BH when i was trying to finish one. not sure how long CH is going to take me under the new rules but i did have a small headstart since i dont need to redo the scout trees and i had stockpiled CH Xp banked.
May I ask how you grinded it out in 8 days? Lately I've been following the advice of the blue boxes from hell and it told me BH (Haven't played the game since, lol).
Now Im debating with myself... is it worth it... If I do it, I just want to knock it out and come back to rifleman. Then I'll never have to leave again.
/sigh
Thanks for any insight.

well for one thing you have to be insane...
that being said here is how i did it.
i already had 5k banked investigation XP from the first go round with BH so it will take you an extra half a day to a day to gain that depending on how crazy you get.
i already had two trees of scout and one tree of marksmen from rifles. and all the combat XP already banked. took me one day to re-master scout and marksmen. i wont outline how to do those but they arent that hard and pretty easy. your only sticking point may be APXP taht isnt a problem for me. once you get novice BH do the carbine pistol and LLC trees first. i ground em out on savage quenkers the first few boxes of each are just painful and are reminiscent of marksmen rifle. carbine isnt bad once you get fireKD level and pistol flies a bit after you get eyeshot. each line is do-able in one day. took me a total of 4 days to get to 0444BH. but weapons are relatively easy and i wont expound on that.
its investigation that is the bugger for BH. first thing you should do is find crates of BH droids. bout 10 crates of each should be enough. you will only need droids for the last 24k of investigation. do level 0 novice missions until you hit the XP cap of 10k by running missions out of coronet the terminal and informant are next to each other. cancel all missions that are farther than 3km from coronet. takes a little to find a close mission but its better than riding shuttles. took me one day to cap out. i trained up to investigate2 and needed only 6k to invest3. at this point move operations to kadaara on naboo.
once in kadaara take missions from the term and only go to launch a droid there if there is more than 2 minutes on the shuttle wait time. less than 2 minutes get mission and biosig fly to theed and start mission there. more than 2 minutes you can launch from kaadara and then fly immediately to theed. 6+ minutes wait for probe to return bounty location. dont take less than 22700credit missions.
i did 1-2k a day until friday when i ground out up to about 8k invest.
saturday i did missions from 9am to about 1am off and on. got to about 12.6k invest. sunday 9am to about 4.30pm to master. failed missions and no shows can eat the time. worst case takes an hour to do one mission sometimes i could get 3 done in about 75 minutes. mileage may vary.
get a chef friend or make a special order for 5% ormachek use em. they shave off about 6-10 hours of mission times when u use em from investigate 2-master.
my advantage was i didnt have to experiment to figure out how to do a mission successfully i already had that experience from my previous BH days.
some other tips. when you arrive on planet no matter how close the mark is launch a tracker unless the mark is actually on your radar. use the find and track option at investigate3. make a second waypoint to mark the mark's starting location this will let you get a line of travel. dont launch more than one seeker at a time this leads to a CTD crash on some marks which is FRUSTRATING. use a landspeeder not a swoop or speeder bike. those two are too fast and can cause the mark not to appear in the world due to some funky lag bug. planets like tatooine and talus for some reason even the speeder is too fast and can cause marks not to appear. if a mark is a no show find a small animal or something weak thing and get into a fist fight with it. sometimes that will draw the mark into combat. dont waste time on a no-show mark. if he doesnt appear after a short bit of fooling around cancel and go do a new mission.
make waypoints to all starports. marks will most liekly head to a starport planets like lok and tatooine they sometimes dont have a destination. tatooine they sometimes head to wayfar. lok they run to a location and if you dont get there they will poof after a short time.
if there is a large body of water dont approach the mark while he is swimming he will stop and the mission will cancel if he is more than 80 meters from land. this is to prevent a severe CTD bug that used to lock the BH out of the game until server up. marks stop moving once you are within 250m of the mark. if the mark is headed to theed he will leave immediately on arrival. marks once they reach the starport will leave the planet the next time the shuttle takes off. so if you see the mark has reached a starport you have time to get there, once that shuttle leaves so does your mark and you have to start over. i found it was best to just cancel rather than hunt a mark a second time since they seemed to be more susceptible to no-show or canceling the mission before you can get close a second time.
how you actually kill the mark is up to you. hope that helps.
