Hello everyone,

I have myself a jedi character so I figured I would go and turn my main into a master rifleman. I did just that, but I find that I suck at it lol.

I used to pvp all the time as a master pistoleer and a TKM but I dont know the first thing about how to play a rifleman to win.

I have two questions, can someone please help me with the pvp aspect and list some good strategies and how to beat different types of classes.

Also, I hear alot of people saying that a rifleman can solo a krayt, so i figured, cool, i can go get myself some pearls and not have the headache of managing 20 people. So I go out to solo a krayt, and lets just say, I failed miserably lol.

I would appreciate any help someone can provide about how to be successful in both these aspects.

Also, what is a good 2nd profession to have along with master rifleman?

I like doctor as a second prof goes really good with rifleman, heck doctor goes good with anything. As for PvP I don't like it as it is now the mind pool has to much influence on the outcome. I blame that on armour and buffs but thats not the point, get yourself a good jawa ion most people still can't afford a stun resist helmet, and kiting is your friend.

Jawa does stun damage, 90% of the armor out there has no stun protection at all.

If no one else is shooting at the krayt you are shooting at, spam headshot3.

Also mindshot1 and mindshot2 DO stack still, so make sure you keep the bleeds on it.

I don't recommend trying to tank anything bigger than a juvenile krayt. I have 90% armor and when a larger krayt hits an armor hole it hurts. Juveniles are easy to tank/kill though.

As for pvp tactics I cant seem to stress this enough, use status effects, they really help the outcome of a battle.

My current opener in group battleis flushingshot2, flurryshot2, and then I decide whether to use headshot3 or advanced strafe. As for single pvp I use flushingshot2, flurryshot2,sepressionfire, and then switch to headshot3 or advanced strafe.

to solo a krayt you need a second skill other than rifle to survive the attack.

CH works well since if things go badly you can hop the speeder recall the pet and leave easier, re-group heal up and try again.

Sometimes I like to just sit back as far as I can from the battle and spam flushing 2 and flurry 2 back to back with my +169 @ 50m E11. Rarely misses anything, and you get the whole opposing force dizzied and stunned, which means if they go down from a TK or carbineer or pistoleer, they tend to stay down for a long time, and if they're a defense stacker, the stun makes thier defense crap, so now the rest of your force can hit them. And since thats all I'm doing the entire enemy force in my cone of fire gets re-stuned/re-dizzied as soon as the first one wears off (if they last that long). Tho I do switch over and fire off a few sniper shots every so often to earn a bit of FP...

I can't wait for the carbineer fix so I can team up with one of them and do my thing while they spam thier AE KD... thats gonna be super

you can solo krayt's using conceal shot as well. Takes awhile, but at master, for the most part, you'll never have to fear getting attacked.

Get buffed. Take foods to boost your mind and focus, and get entertianer mind buffs if you can.

Wear what armor you can. I have a composite helm, composite chest plate, and ubese boots, pants, and gloves. The composite pieces are built for encumbrances, but I can wear all of this unbuffed.

Stay on the fringe of the batttle. Pick and choose your targets.

Are they wearing armor? The Jawa is probably your best bet since it does stun damage and, as mentioned elsewhere, most armor is vulnerable to stun. If they are not wearing armor, the T21 is probably your best choice. Either way, if one is not doing enough damage switch to the other.

If someone is not buffed, use Strafe2 or Flushing2. If they have high Health and Action, go for mind with Headshot3 (Headshot2 if you need to conserve your own mind).

Whatever you do, have Snipershot hotkeyed and hit it as soon as they go incapped. TKs can force of will or nearby medics can heal, and your victim can pop right back up. If they are just incapped and get away, they still have their buffs. If they are DBed and jump right back into battle, as most people tend to do, they will have no buffs and will be an easier target next time.

Right now, CMs are a battle stopper. Their poisons are overpowered. They get no damage reduction in PvP, so one tick of the DOT, especially if you are firing your specials chewing up your own mind, and you are out of the battle in short order. Your best bet is to burst run the second you see the poison status on your own status bars. Hanging in trying to kill them or your current targetbefore the poison gets you will only ensure your death.

Also, lead with Flushingshot to drop their defenses. Optionally, use Flurryshot to dizzy them. Getting a KD from dizzy with rifleman skills alone is almost impossible. However, the dizzy can keep them from burst running to get to you giving you an advantage if you have to burst run.

If you use Strafeshot2, Flushingshot2, Flurryshot2, or Startleshot2, bear in mind that these are AOE attacks, meaning you will hit more than just your target. If that is what you want to do that is fine, and you will benefit from the generally higher damage modifers of these shots. However, there is a difference between getting one person's attention and a whole mob of them. If you are trying to snipe people, going with single target versions of these shots may take longer but may also keep you from being jumped by all the target's friends automatically.
