personally, I can't wait!
The best times i had in SWG was back in september/october/november of last year when people weren't defense stackers, buffs weren't an 'all the time' thing and there wasn't uber food and composite.
back when it was a race for me to take out a TKM before he could catch me and KD me...
back when it didn't take an hour to get a gank squad setup for pVp - i would get doc buffs and run out there solo. if i died, i was back in the game 10 minutes later depending on shuttle times and how close i was to a doc.
HAM cost actually meant something... (it's what justified our speed/damage)
i look at it this way - the game can't get any more broken/retarded than it is right now.
and it will be a fresh game for a while after the revamp. new things to figure out, new strategies... i'm really looking forward to it.

I can't wait. Then maybe all the whiners will be quiet. If you mean about Rifleman getting "nerfed", I wouldn't worry about it.

Because there is nothing you can do to change the inevitable. The professions are all going to be different. Different does NOT mean bad. Just changed. I'll still be a Rifleman, regardless. Rifleman will still be one of the best profs.

what are you afraid you wont be an all powerful profession anymore? maybe youll have to use some skill? heaven forbid the playing field is leveled and riflemen and stackers arent gods
im a riflemen, i like being a god, but all proffs need to be balanced

Nah, looking forward to the change.
I'm actually looking really forward to group hunting again to be honest. Sure you can always get a solo group in Dantoine, but back in the day it was pretty cool to HAVE to group up with a group of your buddies to tackle a DJM, or a KD - now, heck, I can take one out jacked up drink, spices, and a dancer buff.
The change will actually make things harder for the solo adventurer - but man, you shouldn't be able to solo big dangerous things like we can now.
Looking forward to the Buffs/Food/Spices situation to be straightened out. I think it's fair to say that Riflemen/women will lose power overall, or maybe make it necessary to team up with pistoleers, who knows - it's all speculation - but change will happen, and I think when it does, you'll see more of a community build up again (ahh the days before holo grinding, those where the days
)
As always - just my 2 cents.
Cheers

everyone everything - every profession will change with the CU - The mantra is "Forget all you know"
and if you don't like what happened - you will get one(!) free change of your template skills on a box for box basis when the changes hit live
Where did you hear that? However, doesn't seem that good when you think about it. If everything going to change, then how the heck to we know what else to choose?

Given that I'm one of the few people who doesn't use solo groups, doesn't use doc buffs, and only uses armour when he really has to, and doesn't try to run around solo'ing rancors like he's the next Luke Skywalker, I'll expect your apology in the post
What I'm actually afraid of is that CU is going to remove my choice of play style, when there's no need for it to.

You came straight in lambasting me forwhat you assumed (with no foundation)was my playstyle, for this you do not apologise, and then you ask me whatmy play styleactually is, without even doing the curtosy of actually reading my posts properly. Had you read properly you'd get as much of an idea as is necessary for the context of this thread.
Come back when you've been to the school of manners.

If you are talking about forced grouping to do anything, that will not happen. The devs have said that in the past and they hold to it. You will not be forced to group to enjoy this game. However, there will be incentives for grouping and it will probably be necessary to group to take on certain high level mobs. That, to me, just adds a greater sense of adventure to the game. Don't worry about losing your "freelancer" status(I value mine too), because forced grouping will not be a part of SWG.
