I recently changed my BHto Master Rifleman/MBH/Pistols0003 and I was thinking today about giving dragon hunting a shot (ha!). Anyone have any recommendations on some tactics or preparations that I should make before venturing out?

hit him with root then leg hit when it wears off, they'll never catch you. just make sure you run in circles - so they don't get far from their home spawn point and -RETREAT- you can almost take anchients like this.....rarely

Any food suggestions? I seem to run out of action alot (just picked up some -SAC PuPs...so that should help).

Blob Candy, a decent SAC PuP, neutron pixie, Ruby Bliel and a 1100+ stim.

root when you can, snare when you cant, knockdown is worth a try too and whatever you do keep out of range...

The only snare that I get (from rifleman) is kneecap shot....from what I have heard its not very effective compared to other snares...would it be enough to keep a dragon out of distance while kiting?

It isnt the greatest, you could also consider parwan nutricake and burst run when you are in danger of being caught.

nope...no snare or root, just a bleed, dizzy, stun, blind, and KD.

I have the same temp...should be fine with just the one root. One trick is if you miss the root hit them with the KD and snare right away. If you don't snare right after the knockdown they will speed up to you when they stand. Save your burstrun for emergencies, but be sure to use it before they hit you since they will hit you with a dizzy attack and then you can't burstrun. Finally, if all else fails unequip your weapon and run in a straight line. If you have a lead of about15 meters or so you should survice long enough to break agro (with heals). Good luck...and just keep running... just keep running ...just keep running

Rifle snare works just fine....with that temp...just make sure to KD the dragon a second or two after the snare wears off...that will give a little time for the dragon to get back up, start pursuit and then you can snare him again....

If you find that your loop of snare/kd gets broken, and the dragon is getting too close hit him with a root and move out to 50-60 m, it will give you enough time to snare him and give leeway between snare and kd times.

Alternate Crit, ranged shot, headshot, ranged shot...and make sure to keep stacking the bleed from bh.

The above poster...said it right...dont lure him more than 150m from where you first shot him, and make sure to pick the terrain or you will waste a lot of shots with "Cannot see Target" the bane of ranged combat as my experience goes.

Most importantly, keep an eye on your radar. The hardest aspect of Dragon hunting is the silly amout of Krayt spawns there are around the graveyard. I remember a year and a half ago when Krayts were a rare bestie instead of gathering in herds all over place. I have lost more than a few Dragons due to a new one spawning right on top of me. Best of luck and keep your wits abouts you

Well I did finally give it a shot. I took on my first prey....solo'iong a lvl 94 ancient...and I had it down to 60% when an infamous imperial guild (btw..im imperial to) stormed in with their jedi and stole my kill (and whatever loot there was because I got "you do not have permission" when trying to loot the corpse)....I have never been really that mad about SWG before...but this absolutely made me unbelievibly mad. After venting to one of the theif's and on guildchat I composed myself and figured I'd try it one more time before stomping off. Ahh...found a lvl 86 canyon dragon.....after 20 minutes down she goes...didn't loot anything...but atleast I did it :-). Just need to upgrade my rifle since I got some sweet enhanced power cells the other day. The one thing that I noticed was that my action, towards the end, kept running out. I was using pixie, blob candy, and my ALR has a SAC of 77 w/PuP....guess I need to practice some more so I don't run out of action.

Dispite the thievery (that still makes me angry..was an ancient too!) I was glad to see that I was able to do this....thanks for all the suggestions :-)
