How do I use these powerups eg, grips, barrels, etc... do I just drag and drop the item onto the weapon?

From a pure use standpoint yes, you just take one out of the crate, and drag/drop it onto your weapon. The new ones are good for 500 uses.

The bigger question is, what type will you use?

Want to max out your DPS? Then you want speed. I make/use -34.11% Attack Speed Mod pups for ranged weaps.

Want to max your damage? Then you want damage. I make/use +32.66% Damage Mod pups.

Want to lower your nasty SAC cost? Then you want Action reduction pups. I make/use -28.9% SAC Cost reduction pups.

Those are the 3 main types and the biggest sellers off my pup vendor. Most folks like speed to max out DPS but if your action bar can't keep up they do you no good. The damage ones are a nice fit as they drop your speed slightly which helps let your action bar recover and for me as a Ranger also to toss traps. One warning....the damage pup might make you the highest damage dealing toon in your group....which means your going to get the most "hate" from a critter...which means they will be attacking you. This is actually a serious problem....they should base "hate" on MDPS, not single hit damage!!

Someone confirm this plz:

I hear that there is a speed cap, so that speed would not matter as much if you're unsure of where it stops. I suggest accuracy (rifles have bad aim) and damage for maximum efficiency. Damage also raises dps btw.

Oh and XDiggerz, those rifles you have on your other posts have amazing dps's, but I'm not sure ifthe speed can go that low. I usually use damage ones, HUGE difference between not on and pupped.

By the way, Adv Sniper Shot is the new taunt. I use it when my friends are in trouble in PVE. Those critters hate me, although they could've of killed my friends (talking about mydrill caves)

Gah... again the speed cap rumor... categorically false ^_^

otoh there is a SAC issue you run into if you are firing fast (though depending on species some do really well now and run out a lot slower as their action regen is uber... /Salute Twi'leks )

Well, I can tell you with my high end speed pups on I certainly can't keep up with my action bar. For short fights, 1 big bad guy, etc...it's the way I go. For long, drawn out fighting....I use my damage pups. I just keep a couple out in my inventory and swap them back and forth. Since I make them I don't really worry about cost. Not that they cost much, 2K, 5K, or 8K per crate for the very highest ones (the 34.11 speed pups and 32.66 damage pups I use are both 14 pt artisan with all experimentations as amazing successes. This lets me use one less pt on the effectiveness side (damage) and put 1 more pt to the effeciency side (the "cost" on the pup). This really helps make them pretty good relative to others. Plus I am using the top 2 resources on my server for maknig them.

As for accuracy. I have master's telling me they don't see a difference even though my speed pups have a -26 accuracy hit. Still worried about it? Then take some Crispic that I make/sell also......for us it has a +40 toranged accuracy. I put all my pts into duration on that stuff and have a 17m duration food with only a 25 stomach fill. Useful stuff. Plus my ALC which I use mostly has a +16 or 17 accuracy bonus.

The SAC cost pups are getting more and more popular. I would prefer to manage this with food and buffs and get more damage per shot or speed myself. Unless your melee there is no food to increase the damage output on a ranged combatant.

well that sounds nice. So there is no speed cap?? Then I just wasted like 50k on like a lifetime supply of damage pups! (well, not like i care....ill just give them away...)

I'd prefer the SAC pups...im a rifleman and I tend to keep running outta action. Nice pups there X, but I'm afraid I'm on Kauri, not Radiant

If you have a SAC problem - believe me you don't want to be faster

Im not too sure...i think barrels do damage, grips for speed, scopes/couplers for accuracy, and muzzles for SAC (they can be combinations too)

Im not sure...just check the stats when they come up on a vnedor

Muzzles are wound chance increase, SAC PU's are stocks. Grips are speed, scopes are accuracy, barrels are damage, and i THINK couplers are elemental damage +

Can you put more than one powerup on the same weapon? E.g., a scope and a stock at the same time?
