I have 1 x x x .. where should I go next?

Do I want HS3? Or Conceal shot? How much better is HS3 then HS2?

get concealment 1! conceal shot is your friend. then go for the sniping tree, to avoid those imbarasing misses that cause your target and all its friends to eat you

1 1 x x for Concealshot, then up to x x 3 x. Pounding out the 750 XP to get to Flushingshot2 (area effect, posture raise, stun, plus 4x damage), which will be a primary attack for you as you pound out the rest of the XP, will be made much easier climb if you can give yourself the option of using either Mindshot1+Mindshot2+Headshot2 or Concealshot by itself. It is generally agreed that Headshot3 does not do enough extra damage to justify the extra HAM costs, so it is more important to get to Flushingshot2 before going back up the Sniping Accuracy line. Getting to Flurryshot2 will also help since it can dizzy multiple targets, but the combat XP will generally take care of itself as you go up the rifle XP lines.

I recommend either 1 x x x or x 1 x x first. Then pick up the other one. Then go 1 1 3 x, then 4 1 3 x, then 4 1 4 x and 4 4 4 x. As indicated the Special abilities line will take care of itself, but if you get close to going up a level, you can always use bleeds and grendades to get combat only XP. You use a bleed to get them down to 1 point of damage then hit them with a grendade (C12s are useable by everyone). As long as you do no other kind of damage, killing them with the grendade will give you all Combat XP. But you really only need to do this to just top off a level of Special Abilities. You will get 10% of the Rifle XP as combat XP for each kill with the rifle, so it is better to just pursue the Rifle XP and let the Combat XP rise with it. It will take longer in the long run if you try to grind out combat XP separately.
